Had the pleasure of shooting @tide_lines at the Barrowlands last month. An incredible show was put on, I was lucky to have the opportunity to witness it! Been a good while since doing any gig photography, here are the results! #gigphoto #gigphotography #band #sonyalpha #gig #bandphotography #barrowlands #photogtaphy #scotlandphotographer #tidelines

Some of the photos from my most recent Reel. Showcasing the power of #adobe @lightroom Ai denoise. It truly can save photos that you may think to discard due to noise. Mistakes happen but don't let that ruin your creativity. #photography #photo #scotlandphotographer #digitalcreator #content #contentcreator #glasgowphotographer #photographer #photooftheday #lightroom

Have you ever messed up real bad? Here's a story of when I thought I had absolutely nailed the shot, only to find out when I got into the edit that I had absolutely fudged it up. Failure is all part of the process of success, you need to learn how to fail to learn how to win. If you are able to learn from your mistakes you'll be much further ahead, don't be scared to try new things because you may not be good at them. Everyone starts somewhere, go out and get it wrong. It will show you what you need to do to win. #digitalcreator #contentcreator #content #scotlandvideographer #scotlandphotographer #videography #PhotographyTips #photography #fail #bekayvisual #glasgowvideographer #glasgowphotographer

Ok of the hardest things as a photographer or videographer is how to deal with people. It doesn't matter how well you've got your technical side down, how creative you are, if you are unable to interact with your subjects you won't be able to pull the best out of them. Having a friendly and approachable nature will allow you to build rapport with people and models alike. Making the effort to introduce yourself will make your subjects feel more comfortable and therefore relaxed around you. Having a relaxed subject will mean that you will both be able to get the most out of each other. Directing people is hard but with a little bit of practice and conviction, you'll have a much better time on your shoots. #content #digitalcreator #directing #photogtaphy #videography #scotlandphotographer #scotlandvideographer #model #sonyalpha #bekayvisual

Have you seen the a7cr from @sonyalpha yet? It's a full frame, compact high resolution camera. With a whopping 61mp sensor, shoots 4k video at 60 FPS all built into a small and robust body, this camera is perfect for those serious photographers who want to travel light. I teamed it up with a 135mm 1.8 lens with some beautiful results. Have you tried the @sonyalpha a7cr yet? #digitalcreator #content #contentcreator #a7cr #sonyalpha #photogtaphy #photo #videography #scotlandphotographer #scotlandvideographer

You must have heard this by now if you use a camera? Sensor size, what are the different range of sizes of sensors? Watch the video to find out. The first is the smallest I'm gonna talk about which can be found in compact cameras, they are very small at 1/4" or 2/3". Next up we move to a slightly larger sensor the micro four thirds sensor, this will give you a crop factor of 2x on your focal length. Upping it again are the aps-c sized sensors, slighty bigger again from the previously mentioned, giving a crop of 1.5x to your focal length. After that it's the standard size of sensors the full frame, based on the 35mm film stock used in film cameras. Next up are the big boys, the medium format sensors, huge sensors found in cameras of the GFX rage if Fujifilm as well as hassleblad. These massive sensors really give you a lot more to work with in terms of light and depth. What sensor do you have? #digitalcreator #content #contentcreator #glasgowvideographer #bekayvisual #sensorsizes

If you haven't been using these composition guides in your photos or videos, what rock have you been hiding under? These techniques can and will help you to improve your photography and videography in a matter of minutes. The rule of thirds is a basic grid which splits your frame into 3 or 9 sections. Landing your subject on one of the intersection of the lines can really draw your viewer's eye to the subject, even splitting your frame into three allows for controlling your fore, mid and background. Next the golden ratio, it is something special as it's used across multiple industries and is a geometric enigma. Using this technique really allows you to draw your viewer's eye around your frame, this can add elements of viewer interaction within your photos. This will also allow you to select where exactly you want to put your subject in relation to the rest of your frame. Other ideas include leading lines, these are when you use lines already in your frame to draw the viewer's eye towards your subject. Lastly, triangles, triangles can be used to contain your subject within the frame. Again this will draw your viewers eyes towards your subject. Try these out if you haven't already! #content #contentcreator #photogtaphy #videography #glasgowvideographer #glasgowphotographer #composition #ruleofthirds #goldenratio #PhotographyTips

If you haven't heard of colour space then you should watch this video. Colour space is a mathematical representation of how many colours your camera can actually see. 4:2:2 is standard for most video cameras these days that can shoot at a high bit rate, earlier cameras were stuck around a 4:2:0 colour space which is less colours than the previously mentioned 4:2:2. Colour space isn't exactly necessary for short form web content like this but is worth knowing about. If you plan to colour grade, the more colours you can access or can edit with is very important and can add a lot of depth to your images by using more colours than their 4:2:0 counterpart. #contentcreator #content #colorspace #colourspace #photography #videography #scotlandvideographer #scotlandphotographer #colourgrading #bekayvisual #videographytips

If you havent been shooting in log yet, you are seriously missing out. Stick till the end to find out. Log is a picture profile on your camera that lets you capture video in a very flat and desaturated style, this means your image is going to look grey and there will be a visible lack of depth. So why shoot this way? Utilizing log will give you more depth when it comes to colour grading. Your deep shadows will have more detail and you won't blow out your highlights if you expose correctly. There are lots of log profiles to use depending on your brand Clog, Slog, Vlog, Flog, Slog the list goes on. Does your camera shoot log? #contentcreator #content #videographer #videography #glasgowvideographer #scotlandvideographer #photogtaphy #photo #bekayvisual #travelvideo #comercialvideo

Have you used this camera yet? It's an incredible piece of kit, shooting amazing 27mp photos, 4k video in log as well as having some incredible features, including Ai powered auto focus. Watch the video to find out what it is. Big shouts to @wulfdanwild , @inner_echo and @sonyalpha I hope everyone had a wonderful festive period, I took a short break to tool up and re-evaluate. It's been a faster start to the year than I was expecting. Let's get at it! #photo #photographer #videography #videographer #glasgowvideographer #glasgowphotographer #contentcreator #content

3 types of camera you should know about. Firstly the classic, the Digital Single-Lens Reflex or the DSLR. These cameras have been workhorses for photographers and videographers for many years, using a mirror to reflect the light coming through the cameras optical viewfinder for a true and accurate representation of what the camera sees. 2. Mirrorless cameras, these cameras have no mirror and an electronic viewfinder, this means you will see exactly what your shot is going to be as the viewfinder will show you a digital representation from the sensor itself. These cameras are relatively new in comparison to their DSLR counterparts so will have the newest technology in them including increased ISO capabilities as well as improved auto focus and tracking. 3. Point and shoot cameras, these cameras are designed to fit in ones pocket, to be brandished at every and any situation. Point the camera, shoot the photo and you have your image. What camera do you have? #photography #PhotographyTips #contentcreator #content #scotlandvideographer #scotlandphotographer #bekayvisual #photo #photographer
