It’s official! We are homeowners! Many many thanks to these two amazing people who helped us navigate the dizzying process of buying a house in Fort Collins. It was a whirlwind but we’re super excited to make this place officially our home. Pics of the house coming soon…
Did a bit of a jaunt yesterday, hiking up sheep mountain. Maybe did a little more than we were ready for, but it was beautiful. Also, IKYDK- pistachio shells, apple cores, banana peels and other non-native foods don’t biodegrade quickly in Colorado and are troublesome for wildlife to eat. So pack that shit out. Otherwise Boy Scouts like @anthonymikrut will be compelled to clean up after you and that’s not cool.

Life has been a bit crazy lately and this week I felt that intuitive calling to be surrounded by trees and sleeping to the sound of the running river. I packed up for a little solo camping and hiking adventure to clear my mind. I feel lighter and happier already. Spent some much needed time camping and playing amongst the desert rocks in Moab with my @sugarbeetscycling teammies this past weekend. Hiked in @canyonlandsnps and finally rode that Moab chunk. But the best part was sleeping in a tent and campfires with friends 🥰 🏕
I’ve started taking my morning coffee on a short walk to help get me through the cold and dark winter days with a little fresh air. It’s been a nice way to wake up and get outside to start the day. This morning was a real stunner! Warm breeze, sunshine and birds chirping. 🥰
Taking a break from racing bikes this year means I’m focusing on balance and health, while enjoying lots of different adventures. Some of them involve two wheels, but lots of them are just on my own two feet. But all of them include beautiful places, people I love, and are centered around joy. (And definitely don’t include suffering on the trainer all winter!)
This weekend, I brushed off the winter blahs and @anthonymikrut and I headed up to #happyjack for some fat biking fun. And this morning, I somehow talked Tony into a sunrise hike up to Arthur’s Rock, followed by breakfast potatoes and couch naps! 🥰🏔

2&3-the snowshoe trail we broke on our yurt trip. Took us 2.5 hours to go 2 miles uphill in knee-deep snow
4-the North Fork Canadian yurt we stayed in between Christmas and New Years. Saw a couple moose and a lot of snow!!

Thankful to spend this thanksgiving with friends and family. And to be able to prepare a bounty of food for them! Did I make too much food? Absolutely! But it was lots of fun and the leftovers will be 🤌🏼. What can I say, making food is my love language. Happy thanksgiving!!
This weekend I finally went along with @anthonymikrut on his winter camping adventure. He’s been wanting to winter camp forever and since he built out the truck to be a reasonable shelter, I acquiesced. It was cold! But we were the only people for miles in the mountains and it was beautiful with a light dusting of snow. 🥶 ❄️ 🏕
