In his work, Fonte Santa routinely appropriates images—from comics to newspapers, from painting to photography, from popular iconography to cinema—from which he interrogates meanings, affiliations, sensibilities, and identities. He has exhibited regularly since the mid-1990s. João Fonte Santa é um dos artistas mais representativos da sua geração. The story of the graphic novel «Demon Eyes» takes place in an alternative world of the near future. Global warming has turned Europe into a tropical zone, and many cities have gone underwater. Nuclear wars have occurred. And from an overabundance of information, humanity was struck by massive Alzheimer’s disease. Institutes for cleansing human memory have emerged to help people once again be able to perceive new information. And artificial intelligence has put millions of people out of work. A small black hole was formed in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine. Its radiation gave birth to a mutant, a new superhuman capable of competing with artificial intelligence. A Ukrainian minister kidnaps the most capable IT prostitute, an employee of Brothel of Intellectual Tenderness, which provides memory deletion for wealthy people. In order to breed a new super-race.
