Images read: Who is Beis Lakish for? This yeshiva is, first and foremost, for antizionist Jews yearning for a Jewish space in which they don’t have to minimize their politics, anger, grief, and fear. With this, it’s for people committed to dismantling capitalism and white supremacy, looking for somewhere to nourish their neshamas. It’s for dykes and fags and transsexuals and in-betweens. It’s for the mentally ill and disabled. It’s for people who have been pushed out of so-called “big tent” Jewish spaces that use all the right language, but refuse to walk the walk when times get tough. If you’re worried that any of that makes the yeshiva not for you, please reach out! There is almost certainly space for you here, even if it requires centering new perspectives and moving through discomfort. Ultimately, I’m building the yeshiva that my neshama needs, because I’ve never found it elsewhere. I’ve see so many fellow antizionist Jews searching for a home, and my dream is for B”L to be a small part of that. I’m building a yeshiva that can offer us the space that our anger and grief need, so we can stay in this fight for the long haul.
📖 Learning for Liberation: A Shavuot All-Night Study In 📖

On the holiday of Shavuot, it’s customary to stay up all night studying Torah. We’re putting our own spin on this tradition with a drop-in, all-night text study ft. various Jewish and secular texts that we consider to be fertile ground for liberatory interpretation & discussion. Political education is foundational to the work of collective liberation, and also, we love getting in spirited, late-night arguments.
Friends from @beislakish , @rmlpgh , @talmudmagic , etc. will be facilitating text studies, but please also feel free to bring your own zines, articles, source sheets, etc. for solo or group study. If you want, you can bring a dairy (yes, it’s a Shavuot thing) or vegan snack to share.
Anyone respectful of the (always queer, anti-zionist, etc.) space’s intentions is welcome. Come anytime, leave anytime. Loose schedule TBA.
Accessibility: Bantha is wheelchair accessible. Because we’ll be indoors, we ask that you wear a high-quality (N95, KN95, or KF94) mask when not eating or drinking tea. If you’re sick, are testing positive for COVID, and/or have had close contact (ex. a a housemate) with COVID, please sit this one out. We’d love to see you next time!
