斌華是我的大學學長，我們口語訓練課同班。印象中那是一個隔週上課，每次三小時，集結所有轉系、輔系、雙修外文系的八人小班，文藝電影譬如時時刻刻、愛在黎明破曉時、愛在日落巴黎時之類是我們的課堂教材。依稀記得某次報告 Henri（是的法文發音）（是的是斌華）閉上眼睛誦讀某首英文詩的神態。
若干年後，Henri 成爲看守所藝術空間的主理人，邀請我辦展。
有感於看守所很特殊的展場條件，我以現地製作回應，做一檔關於思考這個空間和場域本身的展覽。想著該怎麼料理那三面黑色鋼板？怎樣的創作可以進入藝術範疇，以藝術作品的姿態被理解？怎樣的創作者是藝術家？怎麼持續創作？藝術空間怎麼生存？怎麼跟社會對話？諸如此類。
想想那答案只能是愛。
我想我知道空間為什麼取名叫看守所。
就讀外文系時也修了一年（大概）的歌劇史，大部分忘了，但我還記得托斯卡第二幕的詠嘆調，為了藝術為了愛 Vissi d'arte, vissi d'amore。展覽期間斌華和我（應該）都在，這是一個愛的行為，請來看守我們。
“Beholding Cell” is an exhibition that shares the same name with the space where it takes place. Through showing a model of the space at its actual, physical space, this exhibition looks into the conditions of making and of being art.

Claire is an artist working primarily with photography. Her practice attends to shifting positions within relationships, starting from everyday objects and bodily experience. Through fragmented and non-linear structures, her work engages with states between intimacy and distance, leaving space for what remains unspoken. “Home” appears as an ongoing structure within her work.

葛昌惠，現為台灣師範大學博士候選人，在戲劇與設計領域擁有豐富的經驗。最初從事劇場設計工作，並運用現場音樂和影像素材進行跨領域表演。她關注多維敘事與科幻美學，並從事與性別、身體、基因等議題相關探討。她同時也曾為藝術攝影師、短片導演和搖滾樂團成員，從事教學工作。喜歡動漫和遊戲，個性略帶古怪。於2023年生下兒子，每天都希望兒子能趕快長大與父母一起打電動。
Chang-Hui Ge is currently a PhD candidate at National Taiwan Normal University. She has extensive experience in both theatre and design. She began her career in stage design and has created interdisciplinary performances that combine live music and visual media. Her work focuses on multi-layered narratives and science fiction aesthetics, often exploring themes related to gender, the body, and genetics. She has also worked as an art photographer, short film director, and a member of a rock band, and is actively engaged in teaching. She enjoys anime and video games, and has a slightly quirky personality. In 2023, she gave birth to her son, and now she looks forward to the day when he grows up and can play video games with his parents.

簡介 Introduction｜
一個在未來反烏托邦世界中的女性主角，她與身邊的三個男人之間錯綜複雜的情感糾葛。在這個世界中，資源稀缺，人們的生活受到種種限制和挑戰。一種名為「花腐病」的疾病使人逐漸失去語言，而政府透過錄製與傳播「故事」，重塑人們對災難的理解與記憶。
有別於傳統科幻小說，習慣以「男性視角」來描繪人物衝突與事件，本作品使用陰柔的女性主觀觀點來看待未來的世界。錄像《殘花》，是在札幌天神山藝術工作室駐村期間獲得的靈感，並延續了作者一貫的科幻原型創作概念，使用科幻文本，透過女主角喃喃自語式的獨白，呈現大災難之後的未來世界。
作品中出現的人名：森、中島、神山與丹山，是札幌周邊的公園名稱。千禧則是台灣屏東的千禧公園。
未來的世界可能不會再有綠地，以此紀念這些美麗的地方。
A female protagonist living in a dystopian future navigates a web of complex relationships with three men around her. In this world, resources are scarce, and daily life is shaped by restrictions and invisible structures of control. A disease known as flower rot gradually erases people’s ability to speak, while the government reshapes collective memory by recording and broadcasting “stories” about the past.
Departing from the traditionally male-dominated perspective of science fiction, this work adopts a soft, introspective, and feminine point of view to observe the future. Withered Flowers was conceived during an artist residency at Tenjinyama Art Studio in Sapporo, and continues the artist’s long-term exploration of speculative fiction as a narrative form. Through the protagonist’s murmuring monologue, the work unfolds a post-catastrophic world where reality, memory, and language begin to dissolve.
The names of the characters—Mori, Nakashima, Kamiyama, and Taniyama—are derived from parks in and around Sapporo, while “Millennium” refers to Millennium Park in Pingtung, Taiwan.
In a future where green spaces may no longer exist, these names serve as a quiet memorial to landscapes that once were.

因為一部電影的拍攝，啟程至山口洋，同時也是朋友的家鄉，在此之前，多是在他及媽媽阿秋的故事裡知道這個地方。不過抵達以前，關於這座城市的圖像是稀少的。
過年前待在山口洋，往村莊前有一棵大樹，有鮮豔的花，靠近卻發現那是塑膠和紙片製作的花。過幾天在市場看到很多小樹，等待裝飾或者已被裝飾。電影在朋友那裡完成，帶著一個老相機的我，回來以後多數想的是關於那段日子的枝微。
偶爾手機提示，有人看了雲端地圖上相片的訊息，我就回到當時最重要的地點。

Because of a film production, I set out for Singkawang—a place that is also my friend’s hometown.
Before this journey, I had mostly known it through stories told by her and her mother, A-Chiu.
Yet before arriving, images of the city were scarce.
I stayed in Singkawang in the days leading up to the Lunar New Year.
On the way to the village stood a large tree, adorned with vivid blossoms—only upon closer look did I realize they were flowers made of plastic and paper.
A few days later, I saw many small trees in the market,
waiting to be decorated, or already dressed in color.
As our director friend continued shaping the film across various locations—from my friend’s home to Taiwan—I wandered with an old camera, drawn to the smaller details of those days.
After returning, what lingers most are fragments of that time.
Occasionally, my phone notifies me that someone has viewed the photos on a cloud map—and in those moments, I return to the places that once felt most essential.
