You sit down to create content and immediately hit a wall. What do I even say? How do I not look awkward on camera? Why does none of this feel like me? That’s exactly why I teamed up with my friend Jaimié Birtel to create Show Up & Stand Out — a 3-hour hands-on workshop where we solve both halves of the problem in one afternoon. Jaimié helps you figure out your brand story and messaging (the WHAT). I help you capture it so it actually looks good on your phone (the HOW). You’ll leave with content filmed, confidence built, and a clear blueprint for everything you post after that. 📅 May 19 | 1–4pm 📍 Mercer Island, WA 🎟️ $165 | Only 8 spots This isn’t another course that collects dust. It’s three focused hours that will change how you show up online. Link in bio to grab your spot before they’re gone. 👆 @mercerislandchamber @ceosocietyseattle @ceosocietytacoma

If you enjoyed the new Amplify Mercer Island reel series this past March, then you won't want to miss this workshop. Film Better Content in 60 Minutes — No New Phone, Gear or Creativity Required Video is king on Instagram, but what if everything you take looks a little… “meh?” Well good news: you do not need a new phone, expensive gear, or track down your high school niece to capture good content. You just need 60 minutes and a no-fail filming technique. This month’s chamber meeting features a hands-on video skills session with Sheena Kalso of Behind Your Scenes. Sheena teaches business owners, retailers, and service professionals how to film content that actually looks good — using nothing but the phone already in their pocket. She calls it the BYS Method. It is a repeatable, no-fail formula that removes the guesswork from content creation and replaces it with simple habits you can use every single day. In 60 minutes you will learn: How to hold your phone like a pro (this alone changes everything) Which lens to use and when A simple filming framework that gives every video a beginning, middle, and end How to capture great footage in any environment, any lighting, any situation No experience required. No creative instincts needed. Just bring your phone. Sheena has helped dozens of non-techy, non-creative business owners become confident content creators. You won’t consistently show up on social media if you don’t feel confident in what you capture. This session fixes that. Thursday, May 21st 11:30am-1:00pm The Rock Members: $15 Guests: $20 Light snacks and water provided, but feel free to bring your own lunch to enjoy. #mercerisland #mercerislandchamber #businessworkshop #supportlocal #seattleevent

You showed up, you did the work, and you walked away with nothing usable to post. Again. Good news! that is the exact problem I solve. This is a full breakdown of what my Content Capturing clients actually receive when they book Behind Your Scenes. From the footage I capture on-site, to the organized portal where everything lives, to the finished recap Reel waiting in your inbox by end of day. Comment “BYS” to chat with me. Here is what I cover in every project: 1. Location and details that set the scene 2. You and your work in your element 3. The people, reactions, and energy in the room 4. The B-roll details that make everything feel real Everything is pre-clipped, organized, and ready for you to use - no digging through raw files, no hunting for that one good moment buried in a long video. I’m not looking for a production shoot. This is real-time documentation of work you are already doing, delivered in a way that actually makes it usable. If you have been showing up to events, conferences, workshops, or client projects and leaving empty-handed, this is for you. Seattle based, but I ✈️ anywhere. Comment “BYS” to schedule a call and ask me questions. Or, save this and send it to someone who needs it.

If you watched that and thought “she looks fine to me” — that’s exactly why you need this. Not knowing what bad footage looks like is one of the sneakiest reasons content doesn’t land. It’s not about being on camera every day or having a “creative eye.” It’s about a handful of basics — phone grip, lens choice, light, framing — and most people are unknowingly skipping all of them. The good news? This stuff is learnable. And I’m teaching it twice this week. Pick your option 👇 📍 Tuesday, May 19 | Show Up & Stand Out A 3-hour deep dive co-taught with brand strategist Jaimié Birtel inside her photography studio on Mercer Island. You’ll get brand clarity, camera confidence, hands-on filming practice, posing work, and a talking head Reel you actually filmed — all in one afternoon. This one also covers the what to say side of content, not just the how-to-film side. Only 8 seats. $165. 📍 Thursday, May 21 | Film Better Content in 60 Minutes A focused, no-fluff lunch session through the Mercer Island Chamber. Core video skills, fast format, ridiculously low barrier to entry. Members $15 / Guests $20. Two very different experiences, same mission — help you stop guessing and start capturing content that actually looks good. Click the link in bio to grab your spot. 🎬

Retreat number two is officially in the books and on this Wednesday I am still thinking about what happened at the @cleelumcabin . Ten female founders showed up as strangers. Forty-eight hours later, people left with new business, new collaborators, new friends, and a to-do list that was actually done. One guest said, “I got so much done, this was crazy.”
Another told me it was the best impulsive decision she made. Here is what you’re being offered: a peaceful place to focus, homemade meals, fresh mountain air, and uninterrupted time to finally do the things you have been putting off. Here’s what ends up happening: someone mentions what they are working on. Someone else has done exactly that. A conversation starts. Then another. The games I always plan? We never play them. Because nobody wants to stop learning from each other. People worked on social media, yes. But also proposals, client packages, business planning, and that random pile of “I’ll get to that eventually.” This is not a social media class. It is a focused work experience with a social media bent, and full access to me if you want it. What surprised everyone, myself included, is how much real business came out of 48 hours together. People left having hired someone in the room. Discussed collaborations. Referred each other. Multiple people showed up not knowing a single soul and left hugging, swapping numbers, and taking selfies. It is like a slumber party. But make it business. We are doing it again September 14-16th, 2026. Close out Q3 and set yourself up for the final push of 2026. Here is how ticketing works:
Alumni get first access. Then 24 hours later, the waitlist opens. Last time, we sold out during the waitlist window. The general public never got a chance. If you want a spot in September, the waitlist is genuinely your best shot. After September, the next one will not be until January 2027. Comment RETREAT below and I will send you the waitlist link directly. Or grab it in my bio. Your Q3 finish line is waiting. Thank you

You open Instagram. Stare at the screen. Type something, hate it, delete it, close the app. And the photos you paid for during your brand photoshoot… They’re just going to keep sitting in a folder. Because if you don’t know how to talk about what you do, and you don’t know how to capture quality content, you’re going to keep feeling stuck. During the Show Up + Stand Out Workshop I’m hosting with @behindyourscenesco we’ll hold your hand through: → Establishing your brand messaging → Figure out what to post and why it matters for your brand → Learning how to film engaging videos and capture quality photos from your phone → How to pose confidently and feel less awkward on camera You’re going to get clear on what you do, learn how to say it in a way people get immediately, and walk out with recorded content that’s ready to use. 📅 May 19 | 1–4 PM | Mercer Island 👉 Link in bio to save your spot.

If there wasn’t The RFC (The Reely Fun Club) there would be no content coming from me in the next month. I’m too busy, tired and recovering from illness to generate new ideas, so the Club guide does it for me. Will I do it? Well with accountability built in you bet I will! Don’t let life’s curveballs derail your social media outreach. Join the RFC and let the club do the heavy lifting so you don’t have to. Comment CLUB for details

“I want to make Reels, but do I have to be on camera?” YES. I’m sorry, but yes, you really do. Everyday? No, every week? Yes. People are craving the human connection behind your brand. If your business account is faceless, it’s lifeless, which means it’s not worth caring about. Do you need to do talking head Reels or lip sync videos? NO! :) You just need footage of you in your element so@people can meet the magic maker. We’re gearing up for May’s RFC guide and each audio comes with instructions on how to film facing the camera OR using b roll from your camera roll (ideally with you in it). Comment CLUB to get the details and try something new with your socials.
