It feels like an eternity since I first came up with the idea for an anthological audio series, and now it’s finally coming together! I first conceptualized Hidden Anecdotes & Other Tales back in late 2021, when COVID was still running rampant, and working remotely seemed to be turning into the way of the future, especially among the creative community in an increasingly unaffordable world. Writers & Artists in General have struggled long before now to find suitable work that supports their talents, and fosters growth. Writing is a dying art form quickly being overshadowed by growing AI technology that people find morally okay to use so that they may further disassociate from the thing that truly sets us apart from every other creature on the planet: Language.
I love language in all of its forms. The works human beings have created across so many different cultures using so many different languages is astonishing, and should never be taken for granted. That’s why I decided to start Outrageous Creations Media. Before I had even graduated from Vancouver Film School, I rejected the path that the industry had instituted long ago. I rejected the Hollywood politics and the burn-out culture it fostered. I wanted to see creators thrive wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted, however they wanted. I wanted to see artists thrive, not succumb to society’s troubled philosophy that art does not contribute to the greater good, when art is a superpower in and of itself.
The last few years have been slow, but they’ve been filled with a lot of growth, and personal achievements, but no achievement feels quite as great as bringing the team at OCM together for Hidden Anecdotes & Other Tales: An Anthology with a main character. The journey so far from starting the company, and recruiting the crew for HAOT has been very fulfilling, and I hope that the audience will enjoy the series as much as we enjoy writing it!
