“Is this for the new MacBook Pro?” This weekend was a reminder that live music and great friends make for an unbeatable combination (and the Ricoh is still undefeated as an everyday camera). Thank you @jayculli for all the time and effort that went into planning!

Alli and Brexton are the kind of people you want to root for. They’re warm, thoughtful, and as excited about your wins as you are. It was such a joy to be able to celebrate them this weekend among an incredible community of family and friends. Throughout the weekend, we heard tales of the love and generosity that the Pope family showed Brexton throughout their relationship. But even if we hadn’t, it would have been obvious because all of us guests received the same warmth and hospitality. Congratulations you two on a beautiful weekend and the start of a new chapter. We’re all rooting for you. 🖤 ps. thank you Liza for the invite — I’ve never had so much fun as a plus one.

Over the past few years, I’ve had a lot of great meals, but @theshotasf has long been my favorite restaurant. The incredible team led by GM @sharrizard and chef @ingistars are responsible for some of the most enjoyable culinary experiences I’ve ever had, and now they’re ready with their next act — @shoji_sf . Perhaps the only 7am to midnight spot in SF, Shoji soft opened to the public this week as a morning cafe and evening bar. My only complaint about The Shota was that it was perhaps too rigid being a pre-set omakase menu and I wished the team had an outlet to be more playful. Now they do, and it’s everything I hoped for. Whether it’s for their unique take on a burger, the Hibiki smoke old fashioned, or the matcha sour, I’m sure Shoji will become a staple during my visits to SF. Congrats my friends — so excited to see this vision come to life! (Couldn’t resist some photos from The Shota at the end.)

It’s one thing to have a wedding, and another one to create the opportunity for your friends to start to love each other as much as you do. @tessiewessieee and @kunaltandon did this with a level of intention and style that only they could pull off. Thank you both for one of the most wonderful weekends of my life, and congratulations on this next chapter! 🖤

I’ve always appreciated the openness of Seattle’s creative scenes. In high school, it was emo bands. In grad school, it was the hip hop community. Lately it’s been jamming with @andvalan on photo projects. A year ago, @corinne_antonia partnered with Andrew to do photos for the launch of @peoa.store . At the last minute, I decided to join them in the studio and capture some BTS shots. A year later, I’m appreciating how many friendships, adventures, and great memories can be traced back to an afternoon in SoDo.

After my phone, a watch is probably the thing I spend the most time looking at throughout the day. While watches tell time, they also serve as reminders. I bought one of my favorite watches at my best friend’s wedding, and when I look at it I’m reminded of the strength of love, resilience, and chosen family. For my birthday this year, I wanted to get a new watch to serve as a different reminder — time is what you make of it. I’ve known about @unimaticwatches for a while and loved their minimal style, but didn’t know they did private commissions. I saw their collaboration with @hodinkee on a GMT and decided to reach out and see if they would entertain my idea. After a 10-month wait, this arrived and it’s just as perfect as I imagined. A huge thanks to @imgiovannimoro and the entire Unimatic team for making this a reality. This piece is something I hope to cherish for decades. Learn more about Unimatic, the process behind it, and the watch at the link in my bio. Lastly, a big shoutout to @andvalan for help with lighting (I’m garbage at product photography) and to my Ricoh GR iii — one of the most impressive cameras I’ve ever used.

STEAK is part cooking experiment, part social club. What started as an unofficial dinner series has grown exponentially into a multi-day experience (at least if you include prep). For STEAK 3, @http.jimmyl.ee @andvalan & @kevinlavitt sourced from local farms and @beastandcleaver to provide a range of cuts, and 18 of us gathered on a cloudy Seattle day to meet and meat.

The Wedding — for a ceremony that is multi-part and steeped in tradition, it felt surprisingly quick and fluid. Although I understood very little of what was being said, I loved seeing nearly all members of close family and many friends being woven in at various points (I got a great shoulder workout). I thought that having the reception before the wedding would somehow take away from things, but the opposite felt true — it was much easier to be present to the rituals at hand having danced the night before. Overall, this was a beautiful way to close out an amazing week. So much love for @maxdicapua , @currysizzle , and the many new friends we made. Here’s to your next chapter!

The Cocktail Party — the night before the wedding, family and friends gathered to share toasts, drink, and dance. @prathik19 and his team put together an impressive stage and sound set up, and I wasn’t the only person who appreciated @maxdicapua ’s all white outfit. This night was when the #ricohgr3 + @reflx_lab ’s mini flash really shined, and I’m pretty sure this pocketable set up will be my new party favorite.
