The best part of announcing RANDOM8 (8 stepped looping voltages in 8HP!!) is I can finally put it in my live case!! 🟠
Here my first test pitch sequencing the Doepfer A-111-6 creating an infinite improv melody, until I hit the button to capture the loop.
A second channel sequences cutoff per step.
And I have 6 more channels free to plumb in(!) I could be modulating decay/release on a per step basis, volume for adding groove, PWM, timbre, panning, effects settings, model selection on digital voices - subtle or strong modulation per step, for lots of elements in my case is a dream, but it’s never been possible with the case size I have.
Anyhow - RANDOM8 is out June 15, dealers have preorders up now, there’s a Sonic State video demo I did at superbooth you can check out in the meantime!!

PREVIEW AT SUPERBOOTH AND OUT JUNE 15 - It’s designed to bring a whole case - big or small - to life. Make every step subtly different or totally transformed. It’s also 8 pitch sequencers as every channel can be scale quantised. You can slide channels too, to bring the acid and create complex LFOs or slowly shifting voltages. And more.
It’s the module I’ve wished I had in my live case for a long time. Three years in the making and it’s unveiled at @superbooth_berlin today.

🟠 8 channels of random looping CV generation in 8HP with per-channel attenuators and looping buttons.
🟠 Cycle between looping and evolving voltages with a single button press. Double click to return to random.
🟠 Cascading normalised triggers to create groups of voltages.
🟠 Pitch quantiser per channel with 16 options (1 unquantised, 14 scales, 1V octave scale).
🟠 Looped phrases can have step length from 1-32.
Input trigger divider per channel, letting 1-8 triggers advance each step.
🟠 Per channel probability to make voltage changes less frequent.
🟠 Slide for creation of LFOs, slow evolving voltages and acid lines (it’s post quantiser).
🟠 Offset to raise voltage range and ‘clip’ voltages to the ceiling.
🟠 8 preset locations to save and recall entire module state.
🟠 Simple one-layer menu system designed by someone who dislikes menu systems.
🟠 Distinct and considered LED colours in menus aid with visualising settings.
🟠 Long press buttons to reset channels or whole module conveniently.
