7 years ago I received an opportunity of a lifetime, packed up my life and moved to NYC. I came for better training, to chase world championships, and honestly — a fresh start. I had no idea the heights jiu jitsu would actually take me ♥️
My journey originally started in 2012 training MMA, that led me to @danielgracie and eventually to @renzogracieacademy , where I’ve had the privilege of teaching since 2019 — and the honor of being the first female black belt on the instructor team. It shaped me in ways I’m still figuring out. I learned so much about jiu jitsu, about people, and about myself. The ups and downs were all part of it, and I wouldn’t trade any of it.
To my teammates and fellow instructors — thank you for having me alongside you. And to @renzograciebjj himself, thank you for creating something that gave me a home for this long.
To my students: watching you grow was the best part. Always.
I know, I know — I’m a wee bit late to the “official” farewell post, but it’s not goodbye it’s a see you later alligator.
I’m excited for the next part of my journey, our van is almost complete and the adventure is about to begin. 🚐🐾♥️

Last night we held our Women in Jiu Jitsu panel at @studiocontro ! We had an incredible group of panelists including @ariunkhan , @alisonquinones , @jesssaywellness , @beezybird and of course my wonderful co-host @danidudek11 ! It was a privilege to have each of these women talk about their accomplishments, their journeys from students to instructors and how jiu jitsu has impacted their lives in profound ways! Thank you to everyone who attended this panel and a special thanks to @studiocontro for letting us utilize their incredible space!

Endless gratitude to my dear friends @caponearth and @jazitori for opening their world to me—Christian for inviting me to assist with his workshop: “Leading like a Black Belt” at St. Gallen University’s 9th annual Diversity & Inclusion Week, and Jasmine for creating the badass poster that set the tone for my seminars🔥
I also got to share jiu-jitsu with two amazing communities— @ferrer_bjj_winterthur and @bjjteamstgallen thank you for your warm welcome and genuine curiosity on the mats—I got to meet such eager, thoughtful students. I can’t wait for our paths to cross again.
