Holy Hell it's FINALLY Halloween season- the most wondrous time of year!! Do yerself a kindness, take a 16 minute break from doom scrolling, and check out this doom-laden Faustian horror short film that I directed called FEED YOUR MUSE. I spent a fair amount of time researching sleep paralysis for this movie, and according to the sleep paralysis reddit thread, we did a pretty bang up job portraying the terror that those who suffer from the affliction experience.

Not one to give a shit about my own birthday, but I realized that this year I am now SOLIDLY within the demographic of "middle aged"... at least when you account for the average American lifespan. So this morning I got up at 4:30 and climbed a few big ol' mountains by myself. I made it harder and more dangerous than necessary. Went off trail and became a little lost at times (which is just about right for my life till now.) I may be mid-life, but hey Father Time, jokes on you idiot, my crisis started WAY before this 🙃👴🏻
Took a detour down memory lane with a bunch of clips extracted from a longer documentary I made alongside @colinarndt@blakeciulla and @rossjamesreid over twenty(!?) 👴 years ago while in film school. What started as an investigation piece about a mysterious cattle mutilation in rural Montana, turned into a character-driven exploration about our inherit fascination with the unknown. By the time we turned it in, I was receiving calls in the middle of the night from a man who had snuck onto the rancher's property and removed "evidence" (he had the cow's head in his work lunchbox) and had some classified info for my doc that he'd exchange for me giving him access to Montana State's laboratory for testing. I've always wanted to turn this into a longer doc or feature
