Co-envisioned with @beebaa Napat Pattrayanond, the current heir to ”Song Heng,“ this work is a tribute that returns the spotlight to vegetables once more. Set within a historical landscape that has transformed from a King Rama V era fish market into a bustling produce hub, and finally into the Thailand’s largest flower market we see today, this space is far more than a marketplace. It is a home that cradles the soul, the toil, and the enduring spirit of generations.
”The Banquet Table“ stands as a centerpiece of reflection, inviting us to pause and honor the beauty that often fades into the background as time marches on. By placing humble vegetables side by side with flowers, this installation bridges the past and the present. It breathes life back into the stories of the vendors of yesteryear through the voice of Napat, who serves as a living legacy, dedicated to preserving his family’s journey with profound pride.
