#flashbackfriday moment: one of the first things I did when I got my @artesiapro @efnotenorthamerica drums was to play along with one of my favorite bands and drummers in @yellowjackets_music and @willsmusicroom to their awesome tune The Red Sea. Ef Notes allow me to express like real drums. The sense of nuance is CRAZY! I almost feel like a real drummer again. Somewhere on an alternate timeline my variant is a drummer full time and a guitarist on the side 😂!

In celebration of back when @donavon_frankenreiter and @grundymatt were half-steppin (only 30 shows in 28 days 😂) safe travels on the outrageous 50 shows in 50 days in 50 states for the #guinessbookofworldrecords On this day, I was on my 30th show in 28 days, then took the red eye to the 2nd annual Ohana Fest to play two sets with The Palms, then back on tour. Drumming is tribal in some ways. You find likeminded people and become friends, go through experiences and become like siblings. Sometimes it’s about the area or scene you’re from, and sometimes it’s just one on one, person to person. You root for each other in something that is both a blessing and very difficult at the same time, not the drumming, but the mental challenge of navigating a career in a business built to drain. I’ll never forget the feeling of going to this taping with @thenaj who invited me knowing what a fan I was of TVOTR. He filled in and saved this show when their fill-in drummer Jahphet fell ill. This was post them going through losing their bass player Gerard to cancer and Jaleel, the drummer hopping up on bass. I still have demos of him playing on these songs way prerelease. When Jake himself fell ill, I clung to the memory of this exact moment, kicking back in the green room with the band, then watching from Bob Clearmountain’s console in the mixing room of apogee studios. When he kicked off this song, that was my proudest moment at that point of my best buddy Jake, a REAL one. Long live @tvontheradio

Saturday, May 20th, from 5 to 7PM, @imdavidbennett and I will be playing a couple hours of music, including a set of deep cut classic covers and mixing in a bunch of our favs from the last 18 years of writing together, LIVE at @balboas_tap_house San Diego, CA. From Stevie to the Zombies, Bowie to Sinead… it’s on! Then @padres knock out Boston at 7:10 PM. This is going to be special, so we hope to see some friends, and fam. BTW, bring the fam! LET’S GO.

James flew me to NYC and I tracked the entire album, drums/vocals/percussion in one day, with the incredible @marcurselli and it was mixed by the legend, @michael_brauer_ honored to be a part of James’ legacy! #Repost @historyinmemes with @use.repost ・・・ Vilhelm von Waldeyer in 1891 proposed to call the unit ‘neuron’ from the Greek word for ‘sinew’. The ‘neuron theory’ or ‘neuron doctrine’, which emerged at the end of the 19th century, asserts that nerve tissue is composed of individual cells, which are genetic, anatomic, functional and trophic units. Here’s the strange thing. Neurons aren’t properly connected. They signal to one another – the electrical output of one neuron influences the activity of the neurons to which it is supposed to be connected. But there are tiny gaps between the output of one neuron (the end of its ‘axon’) and the input of the next neuron (its ‘dendrites’). For the electrical signal to re-ignite on the other side of the gap, chemicals have to be released into the liquid in which the neurons sit, and suffuse across the gap till they reach the neuron at the other side.
