Automated tube processing from laser cutting to bending / AGV-based intralogistics and robotics in a continuous production flow.
BEC Robotics enables fully automated tube processing by connecting tube laser cutting, cleaning and bending into one integrated production system.
Based on KUKA AGVs and robots the solution combines robot-based tube handling, camera-based position verification and AGV-based intralogistics to ensure a stable and continuous material flow.
BEC software acts as the central control layer, coordinating all process steps and enabling job-based production. A dedicated HMI and KPI dashboard provide full transparency on system status, throughput and process performance.
An integrated vision system ensures reliable handling of variable tube geometries, shifting parts and reflective surfaces. At the bending cell, an additional camera system verifies the tube layer before placement.
The result is a scalable automation solution for tube processing with reduced manual intervention and seamless integration across the entire process chain.

End of February, Sven Schulze, Minister-President of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, visited the STIMULATE Research Campus at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
During his visit, our team at BEC Medical presented our work through our strategic innovation partnership with University Medicine Magdeburg. This partnership unites clinical, engineering, and academic expertise at the intersection of AI, medical robotics, and surgical and interventional technology.
Seeing this level of support for the regional innovation ecosystem is truly encouraging as we work toward the next generation of intelligent medical robotics in Magdeburg.

Last week, Iryna and Vyto from BEC Medical attended the Surgical AI Days in Ghent. Inspiring discussions on AI-supported workflows, robotics in the OR, and the next steps toward more intelligent surgical systems. The exchange with clinicians and innovators provided valuable input for our current developments at BEC Medical – and confirmed that we are on the right path.

Robotics at the Gotthard – To cope with growing traffic volumes, the second tube of the Gotthard Tunnel is currently under construction – a key infrastructure project that will provide greater capacity and reduce congestion in the future. And BEC Robotics is involved.
Not on the tunnel boring machine from @herrenknechtag itself, but as an important supplier: With a @kukaglobal Titan robot, we are automating the insertion of mesh cages into the formwork of the concrete segments. These segments are manufactured on site, installed directly behind the tunnel boring machine, and form the final inner lining of the tunnel tube.
The project combines challenging conditions – limited space in the Gotthard production facility, large and difficult-to-handle steel cages, and integration during ongoing production. Our automation concept will relieve the burden on employees on site, reduce manual work steps, and ensure an efficient, stable, and safe production process.
