Probably one of my favorite things about tutoring college athletes is the “WooHoo Chicken” moment, when they need encouragement, or they have had a really hard semester and they are ready to try things my way and be open to getting tutoring and support. I just know when it’s time, and I read them “ WooHoo Chicken” by the amazing @sandra_boynton and yes, I knit them a @mochimochiworld chicken to be their personal woohoo chicken. Today was that day for a young man who is excited about his future again, and I am so thankful and so blessed that this is my job.
This book! Not the light hearted romp my brain probably needs but so good. Bonus that I can pretty much conjure @johngreenwritesbooks in my head for narration because I’ve listened to him a lot.
We’re working on a fund raiser today and we’re kind of outside our comfort zone. Helping these guys is the best job ever… so if you want to throw a few dollars or way , send me a message.
If you going don’t have plans tomorrow evening, I have tickets available! It’s a great event with lots of fun auction items and supports the athletic department at Campbellsville University!
Figured out the weird screw that broke on my bag is called a Chicago screw. Actually had a Chicago screw that I had been saving in case I needed it. Fixed my bag. Feeling kind of like a genius now.

People complain about “college kids these days” but they are missing out. It’s an honor that these young people let me be part of their fun and bring Gatorade and cheer for them. When I came back to college I never imagined this… but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Thankful this is a choice I made and that I get to spend this week watching a fantastic group of people swim fast. Working with the swim team has been one of my best choices and I love my job.
From @tincanknits I’m trying the Beloved bonnet! I’ve loved every pattern I’ve ever made from them, and this seems like it could become a new favorite! I’m already thinking about my next one!
