A post we never thought we’d make…
Our landlord after 5 years told us with only 5 weeks notice & with no reasoning that they’re not renewing our lease and we had to vacate the building by 31/07 & strip to its bare bones.
Unfortunately this means the studio you all knew & loved is no longer. This loss in space means the musicians, engineers & creatives that was benefitting from our services and from the community being created are now at even more disadvantage & hardship in pursuing there talents.
We have seen this time & time again with hundreds of grassroots music venues being forced to closed in the recent years, with the most being on our doorstep! We need to collectively save the music & arts scene as unfortunately it’s only us lovers of the scene who care - so we must take the responsibility before there is nothing left!
But it’s not all doom & gloom we are moving onto bigger & better things👇🏽UTM STUDIO 2.0 INCOMING‼️ We aim to secure another building within the next 8 weeks and build it to the finest community hub, imagine us now & then add a lil spice🫰🏽✨ we are thinking…double the size, double the fun?! A new space will allow us to have multiple recording studios, a creative photography studio, podcast studio & an open space to continue showcasing all of the incredible talent that walks through our doors🫱🏼🫲🏾
THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP🙌🏽
to raise funds so we can successfully rebuild the studio to the quality you all know & love us for. As you know UTM is a self funded family run CIC and with the abrupt news of not being able to renew our lease we have lost a lot, from the integral structure of the studio, to all of our future bookings. Over the last 4 years we have invested upwards of £30,000 into the studio which does not include the investments made into other projects and events.
With sudden closure in the middle of the busiest period of the year we are now under overwhelming pressure & were advised to create a Go Fund Me to help raise funds - the link is in our bio to donate, all support small & large is appreciated. Help us spread awareness🫶🏽
