Alvin Smithson was a brilliant performer, a kind and loving person and a good friend. Alvin played nearly every performance of Danny and Sylvia in DC, Virginia, and Maryland when it was beginning. He and the band were part of the show on stage. He was such a wonderful man. RI

Fifteen years ago, a germ of an idea began from a song cycle written about love. What started as something small slowly grew—through readings, workshops, off-off Broadway, off-Broadway—and now here we are… opening Love Quirks in London at The Other Palace.
My brother Mark’s script is so smart and funny, full of heart, and Seth Bisen-Hersh’s score is witty and brilliant in a way only he can write. We have poured ourselves into this show year after year, and to stand beside them on this journey has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
To see our little dream make it all the way to the West End is honestly mind-blowing. And I have to say—the cast and crew of the London production are nothing short of brilliant. They are such generous, talented, and wonderful people. Their passion, humor, and heart shine through every moment on stage, and we feel so lucky to be surrounded by this incredible team.
My heart is so full. Here’s to the quirks of love—and the magic of never giving up. ❤️
