Healing! Pt.1 Some things I’ve been doing over the past year to heal Lyme and my brain. (Not pictured - good sleep and healthy diet)
1. The sauna has become my best friend for detoxing Lyme die off, toxins and overall inflammation.
2. Red light therapy boosts mitochondria for cellular healing, repair and reducing inflammation.
3. PT & OT helped me so much in relearning basic motor skills, building neuroplasticity, vision & vestibular
4. NATURE need I say more?
5. Supplements I fking hate taking. Kills Lyme and co-infections, binds to the die off and detoxes all the toxins.
6. There weren’t many things I could do, but I discovered Lego’s and now I love Legos.
6. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy repairs tissues to heal brain and body.
More to come, thanks!🖤

This is a tough one to write.. I’ve been pretty quiet on here the past year but finally feel ready to share. 1 year ago I suddenly lost full function of my entire body and my brain felt like I had gotten a huge concussion but I couldn’t remember hitting my head. At first we thought I pushed myself too hard and my brain needed to sleep it off, although I hadn’t experienced these symptoms in my prior head injuries. The weeks followed with no improvements, vision problems, fatigue, nausea, pain, headaches and we realized there was more going on than ‘overdoing it.’
Numerous doctors and hundreds of tests later, In Jan I tested positive for Lyme disease. It’s hard to say how long I’ve had Lyme, having grown up in the Northeast. The first time I pulled a tick out of me, I was 8 yrs old an it was in my head. Why now? A perfect storm of pushing my body for years through physical and mental stress sprinkled with multiple head injuries.
To be honest, this has been the most difficult time in my life. It’s hard to put into words how miserable and debilitating Lyme makes you. Many nights I was scared to fall asleep because I thought I wouldn’t wake up.
I’m still healing but good news is once I get rid of these buggers, my brain will finally be able to heal and I’ll be better than ever! I’ve relearned basic things like walk and run but I’ve come a long way. I’ve even been getting back in the water on a boogie board. I still can’t write or go up stairs some days and only driving a few miles.
I’ve been hesitant and scared to share this because I don’t like showing weakness. I also feel like I’ve been an inspiration to so many of you and didn’t want to let you down. But, a reminder, healing isn’t linear and I’m just a human. I hope this helps someone else not feel alone and I’ll continue to share my healing journey.
Thanks to those that have been in my corner over the past year.
