✨CREW INTRO: BEC BAEHLER, DP✨
Born and raised in LA, Rebecca (Bec) began her career in production for Amblin Entertainment. A fascination with the complexities required for powerful imagery drew her to cinematography and a long relationship with John Stanier, BSC. Her apprenticeship as Stainer’s assistant on hundreds of commercials shot on film continued to polish her technique and create a depth and richness on digital seldom seen. Mark Coppos provided her first break as Director of Photography (DP) in 1998 for Levis. This began an almost 25 year career as one of the leading cinematographers and directors on the commercial scene, during which she has been responsible for photographing and directing a lengthy string of global award-winning campaigns like Apple and more. Her most recent feature, Amy Landecker’s @forworsemovie premiered at SXSW and will be released theatrically on February 27, 2026.
"I knew the only place I wanted to collaborate with for this movie was Panavision. They’ve always been my go-to choice, and over thirty years of working together have solidified our partnership. Given the tight and short schedule, and having had no time to test cameras or lenses, I knew Panavision was the perfect fit.
I was well-versed in their Primo Primes and the Primo 11-1 zoom lens. I knew those were the lenses I wanted to use. Since we needed to move quickly, I primarily used a handheld camera. On the days we had a second camera, the 11-1 zoom was great for getting coverage and capturing any additional shots we could.
I couldn’t have completed this film without their invaluable help."
