This Motherās Day, Iām so proud to share something incredibly special: Iāve created a scholarship endowment in honor of my mom, Lidia Mitchell ā an immigrant, a veteran, a single mom, and the ultimate example of love, grit, and sacrifice.
When I got into @syracuseu (my dream school), there were more than a few moments when money ā or life ā couldāve easily gotten in the way. But my mom moved mountains (and provided some no holds bars pep talks) to make sure I not only went, but made it through. She even borrowed from her own financial future to make sure I had one.
This scholarship is for students like me ā big dreamers facing big challenges. Itās my way of honoring everything sheās done for me by helping someone else get their shot too.
Love you always, Mom. This oneās for you.
So, Iāve turned into a gym person. Never thought Iād say that ā but itās true!
Technically, I joined @royalpersonaltraining in the fallā¦ but I considered those first few months āresearch.ā š Fast forward to January 1, and now Iām actually putting in the work ā shoutout to my trainer @chrischeatham_ for keeping me motivated (and for not letting me fake my way through workouts). We work hard, we laugh harder, and I push myself in ways I never thought I would or could anymore.
Not gonna lieā¦I was nervous at first, but now I feel stronger, more confident, and slightly less afraid of anything he throws at me. Progress isnāt instant, but little by little, day by day, Iām getting there! šŖš½š„
