She's the one to watch!Dystany Spurlock has already made racing history, and she may be on the edge of another first.Earlier this year, Spurlock became the first Black woman to compete on the ARCA Menards Series platform. She later made her national ARCA Menards Series debut at Kansas, finishing 10th.Now, she’s listed to drive the No. 69 MBM Motorsports Ford at Dover. At 85 years old, Charles Whitman Dabbs is now Dr. Dabbs.The Navy veteran earned his doctorate in education from Tennessee State University, completing a college journey that started nearly 70 years ago. After graduating high school in 1958, Dabbs joined the Navy, then went on to build a career in social work and mental health. Years later, during the COVID period, he found TSU, enrolled in online classes, and kept going.Now that he has crossed the stage, he says he wants to work at an HBCU next.A reminder that delayed does not mean denied. What if we told you the kids from the original Because of Them We Can series are all grown up now Years ago, Jadon Michel was one of BOTWC’s original Minis, dressed as Dizzy Gillespie for a photo that celebrated Black history and the legends who came before us.Today, he’s grown into a musician himself, still with a trumpet in hand and a story of his own.We love seeing our Minis grow up and step into their own gifts.
