Bebe’s Hive 💛🐝

Today is Mother’s Day, and if I’m honest, I’ve found it really hard this year. Since Christmas it has felt heavier somehow. I think, for all of us, the winter has been a bit of a hibernation. Things have been quieter here at Bebe’s Hive - not because the love or the work has stopped, but because sometimes you just need a little time to breathe. But beneath the surface, things have still been gently cooking in the Hive. Hayley has now been with us just over a month and she has been phenomenal. Our creative team have been developing the pilot sessions, building volunteer training and recruitment, and creating a robust referral pathway so that when children come to the Hive, we can support them in the way they deserve. Meanwhile, our project team are continuing to coordinate the renovation of our future home. So even in the quieter moments, the Hive has still been growing. 🌱 To all of our wonderful fundraisers and supporters — thank you. The love shown to Bebe’s Hive has been incredible, and we carry every bit of it with us.🙏🏻 Mother’s Day is a strange day for me now. But one thing I know for certain is that being Bebe’s mama is something I will always be proud of. I will do everything I can to keep her kindness, her joy, and her spirit alive - through myself, through our family, and through the Hive. 💛 Spring is beginning to arrive, and with it I hope I can start to bloom again too.🌸 There is so much more to come for Bebe’s Hive in 2026.🙌🏻 Today, if you can, hug your mum. 💛 Fundraising Partner Spotlight 💛 A huge thank you to Birkdale Insurance Southport for continuing to support Bebe’s Hive as one of their chosen charity partners for a second year running 🐝✨ Last year, their incredible team raised an amazing £4,743 through a number of fundraising challenges, including climbing Ben Nevis together 🏔️💛 This year, the wonderful Rachel has continued that support by completing an ultra marathon for Bebe’s Hive - something we are so incredibly grateful for. At Bebe’s Hive, we are preparing our very first pilot sessions for grieving children 💛🐝 We are now looking for compassionate volunteers to join us as Session Leaders and Session Support Volunteers. This is more than volunteering. It is sitting beside a child in some of their hardest moments and helping them feel safe, seen and supported through creativity, connection and care. Our first volunteers will play a huge role in shaping the future of Bebe’s Hive as we prepare to welcome our little hearts into the Hive for the very first time. 📚 Full training and ongoing support provided 🕒 Regular weekly or fortnightly commitment required Applications open 11th May and close 25th May. One year of Bebe’s Hive 💛🐝 A year since we pressed “launch”… and everything changed. What a year it’s been. ✨ From fundraising, merch and securing our Hive… to planning permission approved (21st April 💫), a core team of 15 incredible volunteers, our first employee, and a sold-out Comedy Bingo full of laughter and love. We’ve watched our community turn love into action… World Bee Day 2025, yellow everywhere, bracelets, bee keyrings, pocket hugs, and so many of you hosting your own fundraisers for us. And today… of all days… Bebe’s Ozdust Ball sold out in 4 minutes. We feel that. We really do. 🙏🏻 Now we look ahead - to World Bee Day 2026, to construction starting, to volunteer recruitment opening soon… and finally, to welcoming our little hearts into the Hive. We are moving as fast as we can, but we will always move right. Because this has to be everything our grieving children deserve. Thank you for carrying us. For believing in us. ✨ Introducing James Wilson ✨ Bringing world-class ballroom to Bebe’s Ozdust Ball 💫 James Wilson is currently touring alongside former Strictly Come Dancing professional Flavia Cacace — and his career across dance and choreography is nothing short of exceptional. From working as Assistant Choreographer on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, to performing as a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars, James has spent years at the very top of the industry. His work has taken him across major stages including Sadler’s Wells and the West End, with productions like Latin Fever and An Evening With the Stars of Strictly, as well as UK tours with Pasha Kovalev and Anton du Beke & Erin Boag. He is also the co-creator of Ballroom Fever which he is currently touring and a British National Latin American Finalist — a reflection of the level he performs at. For the Ozdust Ball, James will be joined by a team of five outstanding professional ballroom dancers… bringing energy, precision and pure spectacle to the dancefloor. ✨ Introducing Kara-Ami McCreanor ✨ A true vocal powerhouse 💫 Kara-Ami McCreanor is fresh from performing as a vocalist in ABBA Voyage in London — one of the most in-demand, talked about shows in the world right now. And let’s be honest… ABBA is everything. Generations love it. The music, the energy, the nostalgia — it brings people together in a way very few things can. To have a vocalist from that stage joining us at Bebe’s Ozdust Ball shows just how special this night is going to be… not just one style, not just one sound — but a full celebration of music, talent and experience. I had the absolute honour of seeing Kara-Ami perform at ABBA Voyage, and she completely blew me away. Her theatre credits also include SIX The Musical and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which says everything about her versatility as a performer. Bebe’s Ozdust Ball Update 💚🩷 ✨ Introducing the incredible Laura Pick ✨ Our very own Elphaba 💚 Laura Pick has performed as Elphaba in Wicked in the West End and across the UK on tour — a role that demands everything, and one she delivers with such power, emotion and honesty. When Bebe and her sister saw her in Liverpool, we were completely blown away. Her voice is just… something else. But more than that, it’s the way she makes you feel every single moment of that story. It’s not lost on us how special this is. To now have Laura standing with us, supporting Bebe’s Hive, and performing at the Ozdust Ball… it really does mean the world.
