Puerto Rican filmmaker and scholar whose work helps preserve and reframe Puerto Rican stories on screen. She is presenting De Tribus y Máscaras and offering a preview of her upcoming documentary on Lolita Lebrón.
✨ANDRE LEE MUÑIZ
Author of Vida y Hacienda: The biography of Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos. His work brings important historical perspective on Puerto Rican resistance, political memory, and Albizu Campos’s legacy.
✨SAMANTHA J. GARCIA-SHERPA
Founder of Nuyorican Books and author of I Am Boricua. Her work centers Puerto Rican identity, language, and belonging for new generations across the diaspora.
✨GUALTERIO ALOMAR
Filmmaker, storyteller, and founder of Casa de Alomar. His work explores Puerto Rican history, colonialism, and diaspora, bringing a strong cultural and historical lens to the panel.
✨DALIANA ALVARADO BURGOS
Cultural communicator, producer, and creative director. A former scriptwriter for the Emmy-winning Isla y Vuelta and director of Alvarado, she returns with AdocPR to share insight on the films.

It is my great pleasure to announce a new season for the MASK-Making Workshop! ⚒️ Now with the Brooklyn Public Library’s📚 Creative Aging program for older adults +50 💎
This hands-on workshop goes for NINE WEEKS! Engaging in traditional mask-making techniques using recycled materials, exploring different cultures and folklore to develop your own unique mask as a work of art 🖼️ 🙌 Students must commit to all sessions! 💫

🎬📽️🇵🇷 SAT. JUNE 6th THE 2ND ANNUAL BORICUA FILM FESTIVAL is coming to the @williamscenternj in Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday, June 6 from 1 PM to 9 PM.
🤩Presented by the Boricua Community Building Center and @adocpr for a showcase of Puerto Rican documentaries with Cinema on the Road. This full-day celebration of heritage and storytelling brings meaningful Puerto Rican narratives to the big screen in New Jersey (for some the very first time!!)
🥁💃🏽@cimarronesnj and @spiritsnmotion will bring the rhythm and movement of Bomba y Plena and Salsa to the festival, while we welcome artists and poets @nelle_nel@tat_2_gordy and more to add music and spoken word to the festival!
🏆A special thank you to @bebebambu88 for his captivating artwork, which helps bring the spirit of this year’s festival to life. We hope to honor the work of our past and present filmmakers, artists, educators, and community leaders. 🙌🏽
