Plot twist! I’m excited to share that I’ve accepted a full-time position in Governor Abigail Spanberger’s administration as Chief Speechwriter.
This means my consulting work with Relish will be on hiatus for the time being. After more than a decade of working in sweatpants, I’m confident this transition will go smoothly.
Every year, we typically try to add something new to our Halloween decor. In 2024, we got an incredibly life-like Slimer. I think that’s what put us over the top in the neighborhood contest.
Jack’s first political fundraiser was a special one, with alumni from Tim Kaine’s gubernatorial days getting back together to support our old boss’ re-election to the U.S. Senate.
It doesn’t seem like that campaign was all that long ago, until I remembered that we were all issued state-of-the-art Palm Pilots™️ to keep us on task — a sentence that absolutely makes it sound like I had a job in the Taft Administration.
Introducing John “Jack” Mitchell Cribbs! Born on June 28, he arrived to Aretha Franklin singing “oh freedom, freedom!” on our hospital playlist after a days-long induction. Seemed appropriate. We’re thrilled Jack is finally here, Penny included! 👶🏻👋🏻🇺🇸

With baby LeBron on the way (name subject to change), I’ve joked that I feel 55% excited and 45% scared shitless. But this weekend, we were showered with love, positivity, and support by our friends and family. And with their help, I’m happy to announce that that number is now up to 56%.
In the waning weeks of my being able to travel on a whim, l took a 36 hour solo trip to the most beautiful place on Johnny Damon’s Father’s Green Earth™️ for Opening Day.
So long, Fenway. The next time I visit, I’ll bring a lil buddy with me.
