A few months back we celebrated
@100mpa & Nat working together with
@bearjamproductions exactly a year to the day from when the
@thirtyone2526 production training workshops first began & bearjam producer & screenwriter
@johnnyinapickle led a writing course for the mentees. Working together on the commercial you now see was a significant day because we were no longer mentor & mentee but mutual colleagues on set. We even got to work again with #Anonymousfilm crew member

Funny that this commercial embodies the importance of nurturing the vision.
So, for anyone reading this with a vision they are watering, this is particularly important when you have sown the seed & see nothing but soil … sometimes for months, sometimes longer. You water, you tend, it’s hard, frustrating when you don’t see growth above the ground. It requires faith for what you cannot yet see but believe me, there is a whole lot of root growth happening underground, patience is your friend. The fruit of this testimony grew from 7+ years of mentoring alongside my career & a vision that spans back to me aged 19! Lots of people told me I was silly, that what I was trying to achieve was ridiculous & what significant change could one woman have, “you’re an actress, you’re already in a difficult career, you don’t have a degree in sociology, criminology any kind of ‘ology …in fact you don’t have a degree full stop, you don’t have this, that or the third. You’d be better doing something else!” The thing is my vision wasn’t about me being part of the change with what I didn’t have but with what I did; a seed, a watering can, & some quiet determination, the mentees I work with are their own catalysts. All I do is keep watering the seed.
