I first met @marywallwashere in 2020 in a rare first zoom mtg where we instantly connected, and cried, over the deepest depths of grief we endured from losing a parent and becoming a parent. Her script, IF I HAD LEGS I’D KICK YOU, was the epitome of my struggle at the time. And there was no question she was the only filmmaker in the world that could possibly direct the younger version of herself as the lead character. And now that character and @rosebyrne ’s unflinching perfect performance has been nominated for an OSCAR today!! I’m in awe and often disbelief, and not because I didn’t believe, but because you faced every adversity to make this film exactly as you intended, hamster and all. You are a goddess, a fighter, and a truth-teller for us all. No bullshit allowed! You paved a smoother path for all women, in whatever industry they may be in, to be a badass mom with a huge career in front of them! Forever grateful we met and for the strength you’ve shared with me as the movie rolled out into the world. Love you dearly. Your parents are always with you and they are so damn proud of you. 🍾💫❤️
