This is the first video I’m sharing since getting back from Nigeria with Access to Success.
This is Jothan — a 17-year-old pharmacy student in Benin City who wakes up at 5am, studies late into the night, and is doing everything he can to build a better future for his family.
Spending time in his home and hearing his story was something I won’t forget.
I shot and edited this piece during our Faith Fuel visit to try and capture just a small part of his life.
Big thanks to fellow storytellers @i_am_pramira and @knightinshininglaura@anlovedale Bob Gordon
I just returned from a 12-day trip to Benin City, Nigeria with Access to Success, led by my former Davidson College teammate, Andrew Lovedale.
This was my second trip in two years and somehow, it was just as impactful as the first.
We spent our time with the A2S family, serving over 250 scholars through after-school programs at the youth center. We spend time with the kids, listening, teaching. Small interactions that carried a kind of weight and meaning that’s hard to put into words.
We shared skills with the A2S staff, led workshops in digital marketing, communication, and storytelling, and joined an entrepreneurship panel with local Nigerian business leaders.
I took my second visit to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp. Thousands of children there have fled violence in northern Nigeria. We heard their stories and worshipped together on Easter Sunday. It’s hard to comprehend how people can experience some of the most horrific things imaginable and still find a way to move forward, sharing smiles, strength, and hope for the future. It was a powerful reminder of just how resilient people can be.
We also spent time at the A2S empowerment and basketball camp and I got the opportunity to share the court with the “Big Cat” once again!
This trip really re-centers me. Reminds me why I do what I do and also that storytelling can be used to serve something bigger than myself.
I’m sharing a few stills from a documentary that’s beginning to shape. It’s early, and the direction is still forming—but the stories are there. More to come!
If your character can hear it… it’s diegetic.
If only the audience can hear it… it’s non-diegetic (also called non-literal sound).
That difference?
It changes how your audience experiences a scene.

Always fun working with great teams and bringing stories to life in real spaces.
Excited to collaborate even more this year — let’s keep it rolling. 👏
I’ve worked on a lot of video campaigns over the years, and the best-performing ones all have a few things in common.
It’s almost never about a single “great” video.
The campaigns that actually work are built on:
• Clear messaging
• A consistent visual style
• The right video for the right audience
• Trusting the process long enough to see results
When that foundation is solid, video stops feeling random and starts working like a system.

Sound design is doing more work than you think.
The right audio choices guide attention, create emotion, and make stories stick.
Here are 5 components of great sound design we at @bencopro think about on every project.

Frames from our shoot with The Business Journals, created to support their sales event—clear messaging, confident delivery, and visuals designed to convert.
Amazing time with the fam this Christmas and NY in the Dominican Republic. Beautiful beaches, fresh cooked red snapper, snorkeling, boat rides, games of mafia, spike ball. Truly awesome.
Most brands don’t have a content problem — they have a distribution problem.
We learned this first-hand working with organizations creating great content without a system to get it in front of the people who actually matter.
If you’re planning content or video this year, there’s a short form on our site. Happy to give honest feedback.
