But we’re happy to share that added to the #BeachesBrew26 program is: MEMORIALS! MEMORIALS (Verity Susman and Matthew Simms, previously of Electrelane/WIRE) are an experimental pop band from the UK with a psychedelic sound that is both melodic and unconventional. They draw inspiration from all corners of your record collection, including folk, dub, post punk, experimental tape music, kosmische, spiritual jazz and Canterbury prog. Touring has taken them around the world, including invitations to open for Stereolab and Tortoise. The Zawose Queens arrive at Beaches Brew on June 11 with a sound shaped by rhythm, ceremony and generations of musical tradition. Rooted in the heritage of the Gogo people of Tanzania, Pendo and Leah Zawose aka @zawosequeens weave together hypnotic percussion, polyphonic vocals and traditional instruments into something deeply immersive and full of movement. Fulu Miziki are bringing their eco-afro-futuristic chaos to Beaches Brew on June 9. Building their instruments, masks and costumes entirely from recycled materials, the Kinshasa collective transforms trash into rhythm, movement and raw energy.
