Meet Dani and Fika, brother and sister from a small village in Sumatra. They are happy and playful kids with 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀. In Indonesia, families are left on their own and most develop their own way of limited communication. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Being farmers and cattle breeders, their parents don't have the funds to provide their child with proper aid and my donation of a few hundred $ is not enough. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Initially, I thought building a project from Canada where support and resources are more abundant would be easier, but I'm facing many obstacles, here are a few: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Documentary film to raise awareness? (need funds + a passionate team) - Hearing loss specialist to evaluate the cost/needs of the children ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So if any of you have an idea and feel compelled by this project, please let me know below or send me a message! . . . #conscioustravel#slowtravel#sumatra#indonesia_photography #besiders#fujifilm_xseries

Which composition stands out to you the most? I’m currently sorting through my folders to select my favorite shots for printing and framing. And who knows, you might just get an invite if you can make it to Quebec! 😉 Crazy to think that out of over 15,000+ clicks, fewer than 100 make the final cut. Cheers to my overthinking, never-satisfied brain.🫣😵‍💫 Anyway, here’s a preview of my selection. My friend Alex suggested trying out a few triptychs, which brought back memories of our photography course days. Frames from Uganda, Antarctica, Japan, Argentina, Guatemala and Norway 🌍 Let me know if any of these catch your eye and perhaps your favourite? Thank you 😘 . . . #antarctica #senja #auroraborealis #fuego #gorillas #patagonia #slowtravel #shiretokonationalpark #travelphotographer #femalefilmmaker

8 months ago, I left Quebec to reset and realign. I felt it was time to adjust my approach to work, boundaries, and the people around me, but most importantly, to reconnect with my roots in Southeast Asia and get uncomfortable again. I was first worried that I’d be turning my back on everything I’d built, loose opportunities by declining a few, instead, the opposite happened🙃. I’m now back in Canada with a light heart, a clear direction, and so much excitement for what is yet to come. So trust this inner gut, it won’t let you down.😇 . . . #femalefilmmakers #slowtravel #slowliving #documentaryphoto

Vietnam is full of surprises. It can feel suffocating on the surface, but if you give it a chance, there are still places that will leave you in awe. It is a land of endless caves, mysterious worlds containing the passage of centuries, hidden echoes, and ancient secrets. Our driver casually suggested a stop here, and even looking online, there seemed to be nothing fancy about this former home of our ancestors. But as we stepped further into a thick forest, up steep stairs and deeper into the cave that looked rather ordinary from outside, things became more complex, holes after holes, texture, scorpions, and our brains felt that spark of happiness and the excitement to create again. What is wildlife nowadays? I entered with a sad aura learning how little left red shanked douc langur were left in Vietnam, but I came out with hope and a reminder of the reality check: being sad and angry about something you can’t control does not get you anywhere. What you can change is what you will do with that information. Seeing how fulfill the guide was explaining us how her day to day was to give a second chance to these rescued animals to get them back to nature was wholesome and gave me a sense of direction. Some may never return and be caged forever, but her hope and love for these animals gave me joy. When I was watching wildlife documentaries as a child, I had this idealogy that our world is still wild and untouched, but in South East Asia and a lot of places I have been, this is not reality. Nowadays, we are talking about enclosed protected areas. Thoughts to be continued in my blog […] 📍 The Endangered Primate Rescue Center (EPRC) in Cuc Phuong National Park (good place to learn) . . . #vietnam #endangered #rehabilitation #wildlifeconservation #fujifilmx_ca

Embracing change with spring means adapting to new paths, some years I find serenity in solo slow travels, and sometimes, sharing side quests with friends who can also work remotely and relocate for a month together next to a mountain🤭. When my obsession for mochies finally made sense 🤷🏻‍♀️ Fun fact: we tried to make ice cream mochies and it was a total fail, but it was so much fun seeing everyone gather on a day to share and make food together. A reminder to enjoy the simple things.😇 *savoury mochies were 🤌🏽🤌🏽 Shot on FUJIFILM X-H2S . . . #slowtravel #mochi #japan #cooking #handmade
