The last big Sedona hike I had to cross off my list before heading back East. What has become known as the “Subway Cave” off the main trail, and the amazing ruins around it were fantastic, as were the views from the end of the trail itself. Clocked 10 mi and 2000ft of elevation gain with all the exploring.

Hiked all over Crowders, but had never bothered to check out the water. Aside from TK desperately trying to convince me to let him jump in, it was peaceful.
4.9 mi & 1247 feet elevation gain with @tk42woof on Monday. We set out intending to hike Party Rock trail in the area, but after spotting a bear cub in the first mile, I decided it wasn’t worth the risk of meeting mama with him with me. So we pivoted to Chimney Rock which is more of a tourist attraction with a lot of stairs but it has a great waterfall and views. The area is still recovering from the flooding, but being back to the how it is now is a huge testament to the work of everyone there.
Last hike before I’m a Dad and he’s a big brother. I love that I can’t distract him from the view at the top for a picture.

Got back out to Shortoff Mountain for the first time in a few years. Still one of the better effort/reward hikes available and great for dogs. 4.84 miles 1198 elevation gain. Even though the water in the river below is really low right now, you can see the devastation from the flooding with all the downed trees in the gorge.

6.7 miles 2306 ft elevation gain to Superstition Peak 5057. It has been 2 years since I got to do a hike in the desert so I figured it should be epic. Only saw a handful of people beyond the popular hieroglyphics trail. Thanks to @stevesantee and @kristin_louise for joining me.
