“Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.”
William Shakespeare
- The Tempest, Act 4 Scene 1
Diskotopia presents the debut EP from Trimmed Limbs – a third branch of idiosyncratic warehouse soul rooted in industrial timbres, post-punk structure, and dubwise sensibilities from long-time label associate Niikkolahs.
While the A Sense of Wonder EP retains traces of textural, melodic sonic threads running through the Niikkolahs and Inner Channel material, there’s an immediate and concise tone that sets Trimmed Limbs apart with a certain visceral and elegiac intensity.
I will always remember Andy’s immediate kindness as a friend and effortless talent as an artist. He was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it, always with a smile. Recording and performing together in Philly over 20 years ago are cherished memories and I hope that you have found peace. I’ll miss you brother
