Shooting train stunts at 10,000ft. Directing a wacky sitcom. Learning from the least wacky and most lucid Master of Comedy in the game. Testing a weird new world made of magical sketches by @aribach01 - prepping mocap fights with @helloharkin and @Ilyanastunts , making robot thrillers in the desert. Filming birthdays at the best waffle place in San Pedro.
Taking Bruce Block pics with @cbeaton4 the TroubleMaster. Directing John Balma in a sketch show. Making civil war drama with the drama mama @joeldavidsantner . Always learning from the Master AD @thekevincrone . Stunt doubling @markus_jorgensen and figuring out how to fall down antique stairs without breaking the staircase. Going to a film festival in town. With my friends. And a movie I made in it. Just everything that happened in Barnet’s class for 3.5 semesters, but especially A Day With Reid And Devin. Followed later by a Night With Reid And Devin. Meeting Chad Stahelski holy balls.
Part 1. My time at USC came to a close in December officially, but I picture locked my last “usc” project yesterday and our “graduation ceremony” is today. Clearly it all needs “quotes.” Betsy and I drove across the country with our cats and I ended up having countless adventures. I was humbled and re-oriented over and over as the process of getting my MFA twisted and turned in crazy directions. I have so many great memories of working with so many wonderful people, entering wonderful worlds of characters amidst all the characters of USC herself. I got to grip and AD and stunt coordinate and produce and direct and write and do stunts in the desert and sweat under a 508 editing deadline. I quit thesis and joined Everett’s Animals and made music videos and commercials and played a witch and directed a sitcom and met some old heroes, found new ones, and above all made friends that I’ll love and remember for life. I have more pictures of them and will be blasting a few more out because let’s be honest - those are times worth remembering and looking forward to again. The world will change but we will be fighting on. And yeah @juneschreiner you might as well be an honorary Trojan for all the time you spent there.
Maybe coming soon to a postponed film festival near you if it gets in and there’s ever film festivals again! This little doozy has gotten his sound mix and color pass and is out the door to a bunch of fun little festivals and we will see who bites. Had a wild little ride on this with @rebecca_hausman@omarajuarez@mandrewsmakes@texasabir@aribach01 and also Jeremiah who I don’t think is on this thing. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to put this out there...I guess...we’ll see!
