Now we celebrate Emily Knight, who is graduating from BA (Hons) Jewellery & Silversmithing - Design for Industry with the ‘The Bramble Collection - Jewels of the Hedgerow’ ‘Inspired by the wild beauty of farm hedgerows, The Bramble Collection is crafted in 9ct yellow and rose gold with sterling silver, featuring garnet, onyx, and peridot. Next we celebrate BA (Hons) Textile Design graduate Katie Lander with the project ‘Said but Unseen’ “Said but Unseen is a printed textile design collection exploring the duality of beauty and discomfort. Today we celebrate Alexander Packham, a BA (Hons) Architecture graduate with the project ‘The Theatre of Politics’. ‘The Theatre of Politics transforms the waste management centre of Lifford into a mirrored parliamentary outpost for a future where Parliament meets in different locations all across the UK. Now we celebrate BA (Hons) Textile Design graduate Ella Felgate with the project ‘Threads of Nostalgia’ ‘Ella is a textile design graduate specialising in digital embroidery and mixed media for menswear. Her work blends storytelling, memory, and place, inspired by British heritage. Next we celebrate Hannah Satchwell, a graduate from BA (Hons) Design for Performance: Theatre, Film and Live Events with the project ‘Relic Rewind: an archeological adventure through time!’ “To pursue my interest in designing for theme parks, Relic Rewind is a trackless dark ride featuring time travel, archeological artefacts, and a thieving robot called R.O.D.! Today we celebrate Hyka Banaras, a BA (Hons)Textiles Design graduate with the project ‘Ink of water’ “For my work I designed hijabs & bandanas inspired by the split sea and Arabic calligraphy singular letters abstracted together. The collection I created is a combination of silk and cotton fabrics that are not see through while also protecting your hair. All designs were hand painted using paint brush strokes. Now we celebrate Hikmah Butt, a BA (Hons) Photography graduate with the project “hikmah” (حكمة) ‘Hikmah Butt is a self portrait photographer based in Birmingham. Her work focuses on the representation of her culture and her religion through studio practice. With attention to stereotypes and assumptions about South Asian women, Hikmah explores ideas empowerment, and cultural authenticity through a duel British/Pakistani identities via the use of vibrant colours and national motifs. Next we celebrate Abigail Cooper, a graduating BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design student with the project “Synaptic Sanctuary” “This project envisions a ‘fourth place’ in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, a calm refuge from the city’s pace. Rooted in neuroarchitecture princples it responds to the users emotional needs, blending wellness and creativity. Celebrating todays student Alice Morton, who is graduating from BA (Hons)Textile Design. with the project “Woven Roots” “Woven Roots is a collection of woven blankets that reinterprets traditional Scottish tartans for modern interiors.
