Join us in celebrating Sarah! Sarah lovingly created a cookie 🍪 and lemonade 🍋 stand, complete with her own self-designed sign, and donated all the proceeds to help the animals. Every week, Sarah also comes in as a “Book Buddy”, settling in with a story and offering our furry friends the gentle comfort they adore. Sarah, your kindness is making such a meaningful change. Thank you for sharing your light with the animals. High paws!🐾✨

Meet Kaos! 💙🐰 Kao was found in a parking lot, very thin and with overgrown nails. He’s safe now in BC SPCA care, where he’s been enjoying plenty of greens, hay and the chance to slowly gain back his strength. Despite everything he’s been through, Kaos is a social, friendly bun with so much love to give. He’s active, curious and likes to hop around and explore and he’s already litter box trained! Kaos would make a wonderful house rabbit for someone ready to give him the space, care and love he deserves. ❤️ Adopt Kaos today! Francesca loves her bunny and wanted to do everything she could to keep her happy and healthy. But like many pet guardians, she faced a difficult time when the cost of care felt overwhelming. Through the BC SPCA’s community services, Francesca was able to access support to have her bunny spayed, as well as help through our pet food bank program. She recently shared with our team how grateful she was to have these programs to lean on when times were tough.❤️ No one should have to feel alone when they’re struggling to care for a beloved animal. From pet food banks to spay/neuter support and other community programs, help is available. Learn more about BC SPCA community services for yourself, a loved one or someone in your community: https://spca.bc.ca/programs-services/community-work/ (Link in bio) Thank you, Francesca, for letting us share your story. We know it isn’t always easy to talk about needing helping hand, and your openness may help another pet guardian know they can reach out, too. 💙

Meet Tuna 💛 Tuna is a gentle, loving girl who has truly blossomed since coming into our care. When she first arrived, she was understandably nervous and a bit underweight, but with patience, good meals, and lots of kindness, she’s been gaining confidence and showing us her sweet personality more each day. This affectionate pup *adores* cuddles and will happily soak up all the love you’re willing to give. One of her cutest quirks? She loves to burrow under the covers and snuggle up close – she’s the ultimate cozy companion! Tuna also enjoys her daily walks and has the most adorable prance when she’s out and about. It’s clear she takes pride in her strolls! From what we’ve observed, she’s friendly with other dogs and enjoys their company. Because Tuna can be fearful of small children, she would do best in a home with older children or adults only, where she can feel safe and relaxed. With a calm environment and continued reassurance, she will thrive and form a deep, loyal bond with her people. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly best friend who will prance happily by your side and then curl up under the blankets with you at night, Tuna might just be your perfect match. 🐾 ❤️Adopt Tuna today! A big thank you to cool kids Lenny, Lucia, Rose and Nova! 💙🐾 These thoughtful Grade 7 students are taking part in the CARE (Climate Action Ripple Effect) Project, and chose to combine two important causes: helping animals and caring for the planet. Using recycled materials, they created handmade toys for the animals in care, giving them something fun and enriching to enjoy while they wait for their next chapter. And the reviews are in, these pups say the toys are 10 out of 10! We love seeing young people put compassion into action and we can’t wait for them to present their final project at the CARE Expo on May 26! Have an animal-loving kid in your life? A quick break from our regular programming … kittens! That is all😊 . . . Kidding! One of the best parts of our day is all the kitten snuggles and we just couldn't help but share ❤️. Our team has been working hard caring for these kittens for weeks and we’re hoping they’ll be ready to find loving homes soon. We don’t know which centres they’ll be adopted out of yet, likely within the Thompson, Okanagan and Kootenay Region, so stay tuned and keep your eye on our adoption website. **Please note, these kittens are Scottish Fold Munchkin cross, we strongly recommend doing research into these breeds and the lifelong care they may require.

Ludwig is a gentle, affectionate adult rabbit with a heart as soft as his fur. He absolutely loves people and will happily hop right up to you for treats, head rubs, and attention. Easy to handle and wonderfully well-socialized, Ludwig would make a lovely companion for someone looking for a friendly and interactive bunny. When Ludwig first came into our care, he was in very rough condition. While he has made encouraging progress, he is still on the road to recovery and will need a patient, attentive home to help him continue healing. He currently has urine scalding on his hocks along with pressure sores, so his comfort and environment are especially important. Ludwig’s ideal home will provide soft, supportive bedding and furnishings where he can rest comfortably and safely. His new family should be committed to maintaining a clean, cushioned living space and keeping a close eye on his ongoing recovery needs. With the right care and a cozy place to call home, Ludwig has so much love to give and will make a truly rewarding companion. ❤️ Adopt Ludwig today! Gravy girl arrived with discomfort in her eyes, itchy ears, and irritated skin. She needs a lot of loving care to feel her best. This sweet senior pup is dealing with an eye condition, allergies, and ear infections. She needs surgery to correct the entropion in her both of her eyes so that she can live comfortably, as well as a spay. To manage her allergies, she’s now on a specialized diet and receives medicated baths every three days, which she handles like a champ. Even with these medical struggles, Gravy bursts with happiness and affection. She may take a little time to warm up to new faces, but once she trusts you, she is full of love for her people. ❤️To help Gravy get the surgery and care she needs—and catch a heartwarming video of her playful spirit in action, visit: https://medical.spca.bc.ca/animal/1326/ (Link in bio)

Bonded seniors looking for a soft place to land, meet Lupin and his best bud, Oliver ❤️ Oliver and Lupin came into our care when their previous guardians could no longer care for them. They are a devoted pair of senior dogs seeking a loving, patient home where their unique needs can be met together. Their bond is truly something special, so we are looking for a home for them where they can stay together. Lupin, an 8-year-old Wheaten Terrier mix, brings energy and enthusiasm to the duo. He is full of life and has a big personality to match. Lupin can be vocal when left alone and struggles with some anxiety, so he would do best with a consistent routine and an adopter committed to helping him build confidence. He will thrive in a home that can provide structure, reassurance, and understanding. Maybe a family with varied schedules, or someone who works form home part time. Lupin also has urinary crystals and must remain on a prescription urinary diet until they clear. Oliver is a 9-year-old Pit Bull with the heart of a teddy bear. He is incredibly sweet, people oriented, and affectionate, always happy to soak up some attention. Oliver has some mobility challenges, including arthritis and early hip dysplasia, so he’ll need an adopter who understands the importance of slow, relaxed walks, a home with minimal stairs and some pain management. Oliver is also on a special prescription diet to help clear up some dermatitis. We believe it is related to some food allergies, and since we’ve changed his diet it is healing nicely. Together, Oliver and Lupin are inseparable. They rely on each other for comfort and support and can often be found cuddled up together and licking each other’s faces. This special pair is looking for a compassionate adopter who understands that senior dogs come with extra considerations, but also great rewards. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to two dogs who give as much love as they receive, Oliver and Lupin may be the perfect companions for you. ❤️❤️ Adopt Lupin & Oliver today!
