In collaboration with SDEC and LEAVE A NEST, this event provided a valuable platform for FYP students to pitch their projects to a panel of judges, industry experts, and stakeholders. It was an inspiring day filled with innovative ideas, insightful feedback, and meaningful connections.
Congratulations to all the winning teams — Team Tekkonologia as the Grand Winner (RM1000), Team Innovibe for the SDEC Award (RM500), Team Aurumvelle for the Leave a Nest Award (RM500), and Team 1nfinite for winning the People’s Choice Award.

• TFE x Scent integrates structured training modules via bootcamp, mentoring, pre demo day and a Final Demo Day to expose our students to founder mindset, market realities and practical business thinking 📊📈
• RM500 grant awards have been given to 16 teams and their idea have been further polished through online weekly mentoring. 🤝
• Today is the time for them to pitch their idea to pre demo judges to move on as 9 finalist teams.

Had an incredible evening of deep dives and critical thinking at the University of Technology Sarawak! 🎓✨
We were honored to host Vivek Ramakrishnan from University of California, Los Angeles for a timely seminar on "The Culture of LLMs: Towards Socially-Compatible AI." 🤖🌍
Vivek explored the intricate relationship between AI, culture, and institutions, sparking a vital conversation on how we can co-design just and sustainable futures in the face of rapid technological change. From computational modeling to social computing, the insights shared provided a fresh lens on how AI impacts our global and local environments.

🎬 And action! We officially kicked off our Service Learning Programme (SULAM) with an aim to enhance Sarawak traditional food branding in Mukah! 🚀
Our students headed down to Kampung Judan and Kampung Igan to meet with our incredible local collaborators: Pusat Memproses Kuih Asli (Kuih Sepit) and Pusat Memproses Sago. 🥥✨
During this initial session, the team got up close with the art of traditional food production. We spent the visit:
🎥 Recording environmental footage and gathering visual references
🎤 Interviewing the amazing local business owners
📝 Collecting insights to develop our advertising concepts or problem statements

Techfrontier x SCENT 3 Days Bootcamps
DAY 3 - Grand awards and closing ceremony✨🥳
In the last day of bootcamps, it is focused on the “business of tech,” starting with a comprehensive look at Go-to-market strategies featuring insights from Dr. Mohd Izwan and Honorary Captain James Anthony Tan, CEO of TEASK.
To ensure our innovators are sustainable, Mr. Abdul Hakim deep-dived into Finance & Funding Strategies, followed by an intensive “Pitch Perfect” session with Dr. Mohd Izwan to sharpen every presentation for the big moment.
The afternoon reached a fever pitch during the Pitch Presentations, where teams showcased their hard work in concurrent sessions judged by Mr. Abdul Hakim, Dr. Christine Jamie, Ms. Hartini, and Mr. James.
We capped off the experience with a heartfelt Closing and Grant Awards Ceremony, celebrating the breakthrough solutions that are now poised to lead the next wave of our digital economy. A huge thank you to all the speakers, mentors, and participants who made this bootcamp a resounding success—the future of tech starts here! 🚀✨
Techfrontier x SCENT 3 Days Bootcamps
DAY 2 - Continuous learning modules 📚✅
The day’s learning modules began with Mr. Nur Ahmad Zaim, Director of Leave My Nest Malaysia, leading a session on Science Bridge Communication to enhance how participants convey complex technical ideas. 💡
Following this, Ir. Dr. Nor Ilia of Leave My Nest and Mr. Darween Reza, CEO of MyCro Sdn Bhd, co-presented Module 5, which focused on Monozukuri and the practicalities of prototyping development. ⚙️
The afternoon continued with Ir. Dr. Nor Ilia returning to guide participants through the creation of a comprehensive project roadmap. This was followed by a deep dive into the entrepreneurship and business ecosystem, led by Mr. Khairool Adzelan, the Acting Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SDEC. 📈
The day concluded with an inspiring “Founder Sharing” session featuring Honorary Captain James Anthony Tan, CEO of TEASK, who provided firsthand perspectives on leadership and startup growth. 💪🏻

DAY 1 - Opening Ceremony
The Techfrontier x SDENT Bootcamp officially kicked off today with an incredible surge of energy and innovation! We started the morning with an inspiring opening ceremony and ice-breaking session, setting the stage for a day of deep learning and collaboration.
The technical journey began with Mr. Nur Ahmad Zaim, Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia, who guided our participants through the QPMI Canvas and shared his expertise on what defines truly Visionary Companies. We were also honored to have Dr. Arief Izzairy, Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia, lead a masterclass on the critical stages of “Problem-Solution Fit,” helping our innovators bridge the gap between technical ideas and real-world impact.
To wrap up today of learning, we shifted gears for an raw and insightful Founder Sharing session. A massive thank you to Mr. Darween Reza, CEO of MyCro, and Ts. Abg Fairul Syarmil Abg Mohd, MD of Caliphs Digital Group and Sibu Digital Innovation Hub, for sharing their personal stories and practical wisdom on navigating the startup landscape.
