Galveston’s historic 1877 Tall Ship Elissa will soon set sail for a three-month voyage to visit various ports across the country and celebrate the 250th anniversary of United States’ founding. The ship’s journey is part of a nationwide initiative to gather military and tall ships — traditionally-rigged sailing vessels with two or more masts — at New York Harbor for the July 4 weekend. The nautical celebration will feature more than 60 ships from 20 countries.

Lori Muñoz, a server at Nobie's, has built a growing side career as a ceramic artist. After reconnecting with pottery during the COVID-19 shutdown, she began creating whimsical, handcrafted pieces and leveraged her connections in the local restaurant industry to get her work into well-known Houston restaurants. Her ceramics — often playful and sculptural, are now used in several Houston restaurants, helping elevate the presentation and overall dining experience. 📝: @suniagarza / food reporter 📸/📹️: @bcoomer713 / photographer 💻️: Alexandria A.
