In the future, we're hoping that Berklee can recognize this as an official service. As for whether or not they take the program off our hands and manage it themselves, we're not exactly sure! However, it's in high hopes that making this program official will allow students to be more comfortable using it!
Privacy is of the utmost importance, and the questions presented on the form should only be responded with answers you're comfortable giving. Some of the questions are optional, giving you the ability to click "prefer not to say". On top of this, the form only presents specific questions tailor-made to connect you with other collaborators!
Each Bcollabs-related account is encrypted with a different password, and are tested by bots to make sure the accounts are virtually inaccessible. Even the creators of this program can't memorize the passwords! The best way to keep your information safe while using this program is by only clicking links and email addresses specifically provided by this account. If you receive an email or message from an account that looks like this one, double check and verify the name or email address.
One main aspect, when it comes to privacy, is being able to steer clear of students you'd rather not connect with. Unfortunately, this only applies if you've already been connected with them on the service. All you have to do is reach out to our email and request a specific name. Following this, your name will reappear in the form without you having to fill another one.
One of the main aspects of this program is that referring to others not only improves the chances of students being connected ASAP, but allows the program itself to further develop. As this account gets more followers, this will start to get more serious, and we'll cross off the follower goals presented in highlights!
Upon filling out the form, your answers are automatically submitted to Google Sheets. The only information analyzed is what you do/want, your semester, and the best way you'd like to connect. Everything else is onty seen for the purpose of giving to the other connected party for contact.
The main concept of this program is to register musicians looking for collaborations, and fulfill the task of finding songwriters and producers. This also works the other around, giving songwriters and producers variety when it comes to working together on projects!
To best compare, this program is similar to Berklee Hub in the sense that it registers and uses basic information. However, unlike Berklee Hub, this service is exclusively for active users!
