Un momento especial para mí como compositor de bandas sonoras... dirigiendo por primera vez una sesión de cuerdas, para el documental largometraje sobre Ronaldo R9 y la copa mundial 2002 para Zoomsport y DAZN que saldrá este año. Es una pelicula increíble y tengo ganas que sale!!
Gracias a Aleix para ayudarme con energía y paciencia, para hacer este sesión realidad - arreglos bonitos, logística, ánimos, ni hablar de tocar también! Y a la orquesta camera de Terrassa por interpretarlo tan bien y por supuesto a Duncan el director y todo el equipo Zoomsport para incluirme (con mucha libertad creativa) en un proyecto tan bonito!! Vamoooos!

También conte con el multi-talented Sebastian @maraveli.music para guitarras y el monstruo de bajo @charliemorenomusic para darle el toque funky clásico que merece.
Sale en plataformas como parte del album de la banda sonora, de @zmdelariva , que es excelente! La película, que es una farsa cómica a la clásica, para reír de lo tonto que podemos llegar a ser, sale en cines este viernes. Protagonizada por @javierrrey , @mauleonloreto , @maria_hervas_ , @marcocacereslopez y @macarenagomez

Desde mayo a diciembre 2024 colaboré con @mariarodes_ como productor musical para la creación de su primera banda sonora para También Esto Pasará, de @meriripoll . Basado en la novela de @milena.busquets
Fue una colaboración muy intensa, divertida y aprendí un montón de María como músico, letrista e intérprete, de su visión y manera de imaginar e interpretar el papel narrativo de la música para esta historia tan sutil.
Suelo trabajar mucho en solitario y olvido la colaboración es la esencia de la música! También me daba el placer de volver a trabajar con grandes intérpretes como Isabelle laudenbach y Marta Roma.
Ayudar a las dos Marías a colaborar en un proyecto tan bonito, profundo y personal para todos fue una gran experiencia. Como siempre, cada película es un mundo y aprendo sobre el cine y sobre mi mismo en cada uno como si fuera un Masters.
Encontré este video de los pocos que sacamos del proceso y me hacía gracia, de lo rápido que María va como intérprete de hacer bromas a clavar tomas a la primera!

I'd been waiting for this gig for a year. And it was even better than I thought it would be.
Jacob Collier is like no other musician I've ever seen. By a mile.
His talent is extraordinary, his multi-instrumental skills are off the charts, the depth and breadth of his musical and creative knowledge are unbelievable...if you truly understand what he's doing on stage, its mind blowing, and actually just inspiring. He reminds me of why I love music.
and yet what I think is his biggest gift is that he seems to be plugged directly into his creative spark, no filter, no doubt, just pure joy. It's incredibly infectious and charming. I think all the musicians who adore him realise that he seems to perfectly embody that state that the rest of us are chasing here and there, that moment of flow and spark. It seems to be his base level.
On top, he seems to be a genuine and nice guy, no ego on stage, no agenda...
If I'm honest I can't listen to his albums much, they are sometimes simply too much crazy production (it's like listening to an electric rainbow with ADHD zapping channels) but on stage he and his band are simply extraordinary. When his skills are contained is when he just shines even more.
My jaw is on the floor with how effortlessly he emanates the joy of music...
On top of all this, a friend or member of JCs team proposed marriage between songs, then his mum came on to play a number, and because Quincy Jones had died that morning, they knocked out a brilliant homage to him too, making it up on the day.
It was also lovely to share the moment with Leo, who was standing on my fat boots to get a better view, so I basically hugged him all night. Sandra was also a sceptic going in (not a noodly muso jazz fan)... and loved it too. Such a great energy in the room. Obviously my musician friends Jonny and Sebas were just wide eyed the whole gig.
We all left with a huge smile on our faces.
If you don't know Jacob Collier, I recommend the "mahogany session little blue recording" and his tiny desk concert joking around with himself in his room during COVID lockdown. The video to his bonkers version of All Night Long is fun too...

YO NO SOY ESA is finally out now in cinemas! Been waiting for this one for a while ... it's a zany fish-out-of-water comedy by María Ripoll about an extroverted teenager who awakens at 39 after 20 years in a coma and doesn't understand a thing. Everyone is stuck on their mobile phones, her best friend is middle aged and jaded, her mother is losing her memory, and Susana just wants to find the boy with whom she was madly in love. Verónica Echegui lights up the screen as energy-ball Susana, there are some really beautiful and heartfelt moments with her family and friends as she grows up fast... (and the icing on the cake is Daniel Grao who steals the show as Pepo boyfriend she tracks down as an adult. Hilarious character, worthy of a spin-off). The poppy, song-score soundtrack was crafted in close collaboration with Music supervisor @lourdeshernandezbcn of Plus Music, and also with guest song-writer and singer @alexjuarez____ of Maestro Espada joining me to create the main opening title song, which we mixed in Dolby Atmos with the kind help of @jamesapuig of Dolby. It was fun helping to craft the final credits song too, an electric collaboration between @missboliviamusica and @31fam_ . All in all, a great fun project. Thanks, as ever, to @meriripoll and @apachete for the gig, to fellow sound maestros @darchjonathan and @dani.zacarias.5 for making it all sound gorgeous, plus @daanelsing for putting together the soundtrack album, which is out now on Sony's @madisongaterecords . After so many years of soft-synths i decided to get a new keyboard. Tried a few lovely things but they felt like a technical fiddle and i wanted something more intuitive and strange.
So....This super sensitive MPE keyboard, Osmose, by Expressivee is just mental.
(I saw a lot of noodly jazz people wobbling the keys around pretending to sound like a flute, kinda put me off it for a while, but one play in a shop and i saw that the potential for me is super-expressive and organic pads, layers and textures for filmscores...every finger controls every tone individually. and the secret weapon is the arpeggiatorrrrr! )
Every note feels organic and as a classically trained pianist its amazing to finally be so intuitively connected to a synth. Its like a real instrument. Finally...
And i feel like im just scratching the surface.
