- Said goodbye to our friend and former synthist (we love u Nicole!)

- Played our second lil tour (shoutout new friends in NC!)
- Released our newest single Go! (streaming everywhere)

BCKS newest song ‘GO’ is officially out, streaming everywhere.
This song is incredibly special, because this is the first song completely original to the band. An opportunity to dive into what BCKS’s true sound might be…and we’re so excited to keep trying to figure it out.
This song is also special because it doubles as a farewell to our former member @nicolecfinn , who contributed her time and talent for nearly 2 years. You can hear her synth part throughout the song, though we will certainly miss it and her live.

BCKS has had many challenging discussions about our release, trying to decide if we would continue to list our music on platforms owned by billionaires who prioritize political and financial gain over artists and human lives. The decision was so clear, at first: Absolutely Not. But after talking with fellow musicians and more-importantly, non-musician listeners, at this time we’ve decided to keep our music available on all platforms. Sure, the best fans might follow us wherever we go, but keeping music accessible to people just trying to live is important to us. It’s not a decision we’ve taken lightly, and it’s a decision we will face fresh with every new project. That being said, we do urge listeners to consider utilizing other music platforms such as BandCamp or Tidal.
We’ll share every member’s take on the song soon, but for now: ‘Go’ is about the inner conflict it takes to leave a challenging situation. It’s about knowing deep down that you shouldn’t be here, but you can’t get yourself to leave. It’s irrational, it’s confusing, it’s sad, it’s angry, and it’s being human.

Two years ago a group of friends gathered in someone’s mom’s basement to give this thing a shot, and it’s been full send ever since. How do we celebrate? The only way we know how. By selling out @smithsoldebar on a Monday w/ new friends @cashhoneytheband & @kandthepatl , then bringing that energy to the Saturday streets of @cityofsugarhill !!!

Thank you to everyone who has come to a show, played a show, hosted a show, ran sound for a show, printed a shirt, bought some merch, listened to a song, shared a song, had a conversation, helped with gear, helped with a car…or just supported us in general. Music and people are going to get us through, and spending week after week in the basement making music with my friends is what gets me through.
