Our 9th annual KCMEA Jazz Day is coming up on April 16! Eleven local high school bands plus the Kern County Honor Jazz Band, the BC Jazz Ensemble, and the BC Faculty Jazz Combo with special guest Cathlene Pineda! Cathlene is a pianist and composer based in LA, and she co-directs the jazz program at CalArts. Free music all day in the Simonsen Indoor Theater! Full schedule is posted at bcjazz.org/jazzday
Our music majors had a great time today working with LA saxophonist and Alexander Technique instructor Bill Plake… learning to move more efficiently AND hit those melodic minor modes!
