We’re excited to welcome Robert Jago as BCIT’s very first Indigenous Storyteller in Residence. Robert is a writer, researcher, and entrepreneur who has dedicated his career to amplifying Indigenous voices and perspectives. In this new role, he’ll be working with students and faculty to explore how stories can be told with honesty, respect, and cultural understanding — and to help us all take meaningful steps toward reconciliation.

This year’s standout audio docs took us to places that matter — from a tsunami’s impact in Port Alberni, to salmon conservation efforts, to the curling ice where Vancouver’s queer community finds connection. Each documentary had immersive sound, strong writing, and heartfelt storytelling. 🔹 In the Wave – Kai Garcia & Arden McLeod 🔹 Return to the Creek – Emma Bolzner, Quinlan Currie & Sandro Vargas 🔹 Out on the Ice – Riley Cunningham, Nate Elmes & Jonah Jung
