$400 off-the-rack suit vs $1200 made-to-measure…how do they compare?
This off-the-rack suit by @acmecultum actually holds its own — high rise trousers, side tabs, clean straight drape, wide peak lapels, half-canvas construction�and 100% high-twist wool that’s lightweight enough to see through.
But is it perfect? not quite - the sleeves + trouser length needed a bit of work. However, the foundation is very solid for the price. Just a quick trip to your local tailor and you could be looking like a million bucks.
So at that point, you really have to ask — are you paying for custom… or just chasing that last 10%?
And for sizing reference: I’m 5’9” / 175cm, 157lbs / 71kg and these days I typically flex between a 36R/38R jacket and 29/30” waist trouser. Using the size guide for this particular suit, I opted for a 52A, which resulted in what you see here.
