In the past few weeks, BCA Engineers have been actively promoting mental health awareness by participating in The Push-Up Challenge. This initiative aims to enhance physical and mental fitness, foster enjoyment, and raise funds to increase awareness of mental health issues in Australia.
Despite progress, the stigma surrounding mental health issues persists in 2024. By taking part in The Push-Up Challenge, we aim to combat this stigma by raising awareness and initiating conversations about the mental health challenges that affect everyday Australians.
Members of our office are striving to complete 3,249 push-ups in 24 days (or 1,625 for those aiming for half). This number symbolizes the lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022. Through this effort, we aim to raise funds to support The Push for Better Foundation, Lifeline, and Headspace organizations that provide essential mental health services and support to Australians.
So far, we have collectively completed almost 30,000 push-ups as a company and are more than halfway to reaching our fundraising goal.
Please visit our page to track our push-up progress and support us by donating to this worthy cause!

At BCA Engineers we pride ourselves in our commitment to employee retention, providing opportunities for development and career growth. This is reflected in the amazing statistics that showcase a steady growth and retention in employee numbers.
BCA Engineers provided specialist Fire Safety Engineering on the 10,000m2 NEXTDC Data Centre in Adelaide's CBD. Due to the critical importance of the building's use, it necessitated fire safety considerations outside that required for compliance with the National Construction Code. We are glad to see this building taking shape and its completion is anticipated in a few months.
Throughout 2023 BCA Engineers and it’s staff were involved in fundraising over $4,000 for various charities including the Cancer Council, Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Australian and New Zealand Sarcoma Association. This year we look forward to further opportunities to give back to our community.
BCA Engineers congratulate Russell Stevens as he achieves an incredible 15-year milestone with the company.
Russell’s contribution to the company, and fire team, over this time has been fundamental in enabling BCA Engineers to reach where we are now in terms of reputation and expertise.
Russell started his career as a fire protection services drafter under the supervision of Steve Humphrey at Bassett Consulting Engineers in 2002 and joined BCA Engineers in 2008. Since this time he has grown personally and professionally, including taking on a technical engineering role and undertaking postgraduate studies in Fire Safety Engineering.
He is now one of our trusted senior members of our fire safety and fire protection team and an Associate Director of our company. His skill and expertise have also been formally recognised by Engineers Australia as a Chartered Engineering Associate (CEngA).
Over and above his technical knowledge he is also a terrific team player, mentor to junior staff, and a devoted family man. Russell is representative of the culture and excellence of today's BCA Engineers.
15 years ago, Nathan Brown and Patrick Campbell started BCA Engineers in a tiny office on Pultney St. Adelaide and have grown to a company of 60 employees with a heavy presence not just in Australia but also across Southeast Asia.
