š”Finding them the best forever homes
My name is Tucker and I am looking for a forever home. I found myself at a scary place called a shelter in rural south Georgia where I was waiting to get adopted and then something happened and they said they needed to move as many of us as possible (we found out later it had something to do with some really bad fires). A small local rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help and they said, āof course!ā. So now myself and some of the friends I made at the shelter found ourselves in a foster home and are coming to New Jersey on Saturday, May 16th. A little about myself: I appear to be possibly a chihuahua mixed with a little bit of a terrier, but thatās just a guess. The vet thinks Iām about 18 months old and I weigh a little over 16lbs and am not expected to get any bigger. I am a little shy when I first meet new people but it didnāt take me long to learn that my foster parents were nice and now I love getting attention from them. I have gotten along with all of the other small/medium dogs I have met and I donāt bother those things called cats. I love my food and take treats gently which can help with any future training. I do ok on leash, especially after I trust you, but some practice with some treats will just help me get better. If you would like to meet me and will be available on the 16th, please fill out an application which can be found at
My name is Bruno and I am looking for a forever home. I found myself in a scary place called a shelter where I was overlooked for adoption, maybe ācause I hid in the back of my crate when I first met new people. My foster mom says give me a little time and TLC and I will come out of my shell and then love getting attention. My coloring is close to a border terrier but at about a year old and only a little over 11lbs, Iām a little smaller in stature of a border terrier but no one knows what that mix might be; but whatever I might be, my foster mom says Iām a super cute little scruffy! I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and donāt bother those things called cats. I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bedding, although I would really prefer to be out with you. While I am learning about that thing called a leash, they still kind of scare me so I would love a secured fenced area in order to take care of my business and explore. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at
Meet Rudy, Bessie, Marna & Bosco š¾š
This adorable group of 5-month-old pups is ready to find their forever homes! Each one has their own unique look, but they all share the same sweet, laid-back personalities that make them such special companions.
š¶ Rudy ā A handsome black and white boy, weighing about 27 pounds
š¶ Bessie ā A beautiful girl with the cutest ears, about 23 pounds
š¶ Marna ā A lovely mostly black girl, around 27 pounds
š¶ Bosco ā A cute tan boy, weighing about 28 pounds
All four pups are expected to be medium-sized when fully grown.
These puppies came from a home with other dogs and are very comfortable in a pack, making them great candidates for homes with canine companions. They love attention and will happily soak up all the pets, snuggles, and love you can give.

Shug is a 2.5-year-old feist / min pin mix weighing about 20 pounds, and sheās as sweet as they come. This little girl has a gentle, loving nature and is ready to find a patient, caring home to call her own.
Shug can be a bit shy at first, especially with new surroundings and loud noises, so sheāll need a family that understands she may take a little time to feel safe. Once Shug feels comfortable, her personality truly shines. Sheās affectionate, loves giving kisses, and will happily roll over for belly rubs. Sheās housetrained (yay!) and does well in a crateāshe may whine a little at first but settles in and sleeps through the night.
Shug has experience living with multiple dogs and does well with them once sheās had time to adjust. Sheās currently doing great with other dogs in her foster home. Her experience with cats is unknown.
She may cry a bit when left alone for several hours, as she really enjoys being close to her people. With continued routine and reassurance, she will continue to build confidence. Shug is more than ready to start her next chapter. Her foster says sheās been an absolute joyāespecially for a first-time fosterāand hopes all future fosters are just like her!
If youāre looking for a sweet, loyal companion and are willing to give her the time she needs to blossom, Shug will reward you with endless love šApply to adopt at bcaaofnj.org š¶
Meet Marley š¾š
Marley is one of the adorable pups from our āNew Leash on Lifeā program, and heās ready to find his forever family! At around 9 weeks old and about 8.5 pounds, we expect him to grow into a medium-sized dog. While his exact breed mix is a mystery, his mom appears to be a beagle/hound mix (possibly with some lab), and Marley definitely got the best of everythingāheās sweet, smart, and full of personality.
Marley has had an amazing start thanks to the New Leash on Life prison training program, where heās been working one-on-one on skills like sit, stay, leash walking, and potty training. Heās also been getting lots of socialization with people, other puppies, and adult dogsāsetting him up to become a well-rounded companion. His trainers say heās incredibly smart and catching on quickly!
Now in foster care, Marley is thriving. Heās playful, bouncy, and full of that happy puppy energy, but heās also incredibly sweet and loves being around his people. He gets along great with other dogs and would do wonderfully in a home ready to continue his training and give him all the love he deserves.

Meet Tink ā 3 years old, 60 lbs, and pure love!
His foster canāt say enough amazing things about this boy. Tink is a total lover who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Heāll happily hop up on the couch or chair for pets and cuddles and truly thrives on attention.
When left alone, Tink settles nicely in his extra-large crate. He may whine for a minute or two, but then relaxes and goes right to sleep. He walks great on a leash and knows āsitā (though he sometimes thinks a treat should be part of the deal š¤£). He also knows ādownā and is eager to please. Tink absolutely loves other dogs! He adores his fosterās 14-year-old Jack Russell and enjoys every dog he meets. Heās playful, social, and will show off his zoomies when he finds a buddy who wants to play.
Heās had 30 days of professional training to help build confidence around strangers and has already been out and about at stores like Tractor Supply and Loweās, where heās done great. Continued outings will help him grow even more confident. Tink is fully crate trained and house trained. He uses a dog door with ease but can also stay in his crate for up to 8 hours with no accidents. He would do best with older kids and no cats in his new home.
With his beautiful, shiny medium-length coat and stunning looks, Tink is truly a head-turner ā pictures donāt do him justice! He enjoys staying active with walks but is just as happy relaxing on his cot. Tink is a sweet, affectionate boy, and whoever adopts him is going to be incredibly lucky. Apply at bcaaofnj.org š¾
Meet Sunny āļø
Sunny is a 1ā2 year old, 35 lb Black Mouth Cur mix whoās ready to find her forever home. Found as a stray in North Carolina, she hasnāt let her past dim her bright, loving personality.
Sheās the perfect mix of playful and cozyāalways up for a nice walk, then happiest curled up next to you on the couch. Sunny is smart, curious, and loves to show off her adorable ādownward dogā stretch that will make you smile every time.
She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a moment and youāll see her warm, affectionate side shine through. She does great with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion. (Cats are still a mystery!)

Hi! My name is Brandi and I am looking for a forever home. I was picked up as a stray by animal control and taken to a really scary place called a shelter where, after my stray hold was up, I was placed on something bad called āthe listā. Lucky for me, a small rescue volunteer pulled me right before anything bad could happen to me and then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes! I appear to be a Boston terrier mix and the vet thinks I am only about 8 months old, so at about 24lbs the best guess as to my full grown weight may be around 30lbs. I was pretty scared when I first arrived at my foster home but everyone here is being so nice to me, I am starting to realize I am safe and finding I really enjoy getting some attention and treats. I have done well with all of the other dogs I have met and I have gone nose-to-nose with one of the cats here and we were both just interested in checking each other out. I have done well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding. I am still learning about that thing called a leash so I will need a fenced yard so I can take care of my business. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at .
Sandy is a 2-year-old Foxhound, about 45 lbs, and just about at her perfect healthy weight š¤ With soulful eyes and a gentle spirit, sheās the kind of dog who quietly asks for loveāand soaks up every bit of it.
Sheās incredibly affectionate, loves attention, and will softly place her paws on you just to be closer. Sandy is house & crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and enjoys both adventures and relaxing at home. Sheās lower energy with playful moments (hello zoomies! š¾).
Sandy does beautifully with other dogs of all sizes, has tested well with cats, and is amazing with kids. Sheās a total star at adoption events and greets everyone with sweet, gentle affection.
As a hound, she loves to follow her nose, so a secure fence or committed leash walks are ideal. She came from a tough start but has blossomed into a loving, loyal companion. She may need a little time to settleābut once she does, sheāll never leave your side š
