What exactly is eye donation?
It’s the donation of your cornea(s), the clear part on the front of the eye, and/or the sclera, the white part of your eyes. A cornea transplant can restore sight to those who are blind. The sclera can help patch grafts in glaucoma surgery, reconstruct orbital areas, attach prosthetic eyes, and reconstruct eyelids. It all feels pretty miraculous.

What an absolute pleasure to host such a wonderful event this past weekend with my fellow BC-CTA members and supports. A huge thank you to all those that volunteered to make this event possible.
We welcomed over 100 participants to the annual transplant trot, a powerful walk run event held in Burnaby this year. It wasn't about the kilometers raced but the gathering of the community from supporters, donors and transplant recipients to showcase the importance of community and raising awareness for organ donation.
As a transplant recipient myself, it was magical to see us all come together to not only show the true power of organ donation and cherishing the selfless act of passing along but to show the absolute strength, love and support within this community.
