Today is @greenshirtday , when we recognize how Logan Boulet’s decision to become an organ donor saved six lives and inspired a movement. The #LoganBouletEffect has encouraged hundreds of thousands of Canadians to register as organ donors, proving how one choice can make a world of difference. Today we’re asking people to spark a conversation about Logan’s legacy, about organ donation and about the simple but powerful act of registering. When we share our stories, we inspire others to do the same. #GreenShirtDay #OrgansTissuesForLife

What exactly is eye donation? It’s the donation of your cornea(s), the clear part on the front of the eye, and/or the sclera, the white part of your eyes. A cornea transplant can restore sight to those who are blind. The sclera can help patch grafts in glaucoma surgery, reconstruct orbital areas, attach prosthetic eyes, and reconstruct eyelids. It all feels pretty miraculous. Choose to leave well so others can live well. Register to be an organ and tissue donor at donateyourtissues.ca

What a great few months it has been! From the WTG in Dresden, Germany to the transplant trot in Burnaby it was incredible to see the power of organ donation at work. Mark your calendars for upcoming events and let us know if you are interested in volunteering! Consider being a member of the BC-CTA if you are not already! #OrganDonationAwareness #bccta

What an absolute pleasure to host such a wonderful event this past weekend with my fellow BC-CTA members and supports. A huge thank you to all those that volunteered to make this event possible. We welcomed over 100 participants to the annual transplant trot, a powerful walk run event held in Burnaby this year. It wasn't about the kilometers raced but the gathering of the community from supporters, donors and transplant recipients to showcase the importance of community and raising awareness for organ donation. As a transplant recipient myself, it was magical to see us all come together to not only show the true power of organ donation and cherishing the selfless act of passing along but to show the absolute strength, love and support within this community. Until next year! It is a honour to be your provincial director đź’š Thank you to everyone who came out and/or donated in support of this event. Big thank you to our many sponsors who graciously donated our many prize give aways and to all vendors who kept us full with donuts, entertained us with music, took our pictures and painted our faces, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Many thanks to our collaborative partners #BCtransplant and #tfrbc for bringing strong teams out in support of our event. Hope to see you there next year! #organdonationawareness #organ #bccta #organdonation #organdonationsaveslives #transplant #running #Burnaby #raiseawareness wareness #transplantstrong
