I took on the immense task from
@jr.redline.racing to take the reigns for the new generation of Redline. Yes, The crew you are thinking of. I already had the hightest standards set on me for
@euy13 being my dad so I knew this opportunity would come with even more.
So let the story begin…
Turboing the TSX was always the plan. But, not very feasible as a broke HS student. Still broke but on July 21st; I decided, after collecting parts and the main pieces from
@irevhard it was time to tear the car down, that morning the car found its resting point for the next nearly 6 months. It had to be prepped not only to start turbo/manifold mock up but for transmission removal so I could Install an MFactory LSD thanks to
@southbaymatco and
@_quannguyen for the OS Giken STR. I truly can’t imagine where this build would be without the priceless (horrible financial) incluence from
@ek_teddy and
@_quannguyen for every little question I had, and even allowing me to borrow tools and just consistently lead me in the right direction. Everything went relatively smooth, I deloomed, tucked, and rewarapped the harness, which included extending some small things here and there, redid the heater lines, brake booster line, oil feed and drain line, and I think most importantly, redid the whole fuel system and added a return line. Ofcourse there is all the other miscelaneous things that pop up and I will admit that I snowballed more than quite a bit. Finished up the car and got it fired up, just in time to send it to
@bbymole at
@obeast_speed_shop to do the fab work. We spoke about my idea of running the IC piping through the factory airbox and the words “ill figure it out” came out of his mouth I knew the car was going to the right place. Jason absolutely killed it in everything that he did. I am more than happy to have had him do the only outsourced work on the car. Right now we are on a base map, Im dealing with some small hiccups but tune will be coming soon and so will pics of during the build.
I take pride in saying I did everything besides fab and tune and the end goal is exactly what I had envisioned.
