Throwback to Kenya - Nov 2024
Travelling to Kenya was so much more than just a trip. It was a dream I had carried within me for a long time — a deep calling from nature, a need to return to the essential. From the very first moments, I felt the overwhelming sensation of being on the land of the animals, a humble guest in their world, walking where lions reign and elephants have roamed for generations. This journey was also a pause, a much-needed breath to process the loss of my grandma, a way to reconnect with life differently, far from the noise of everyday life. With my incredible travel partner,
@sandra_vow , we chose to disconnect from the world so we could truly reconnect with ourselves — together — in this land of raw, powerful beauty. The savannah offered us its peace, its slow and steady rhythm — so far from our rushed modern lives. Each sunrise was a blessing, each early wake-up a promise: to witness a cheetah darting through the grass, a family of elephants crossing the plains, or to lock eyes with a lion at dawn. We explored eleven national parks, each with its own magic, its own colors, wildlife, and soul. But this trip was also a deeply human adventure. We shared moments with Kenyans, discovering their warmth, pride, and hospitality — something that touched me deeply. Their genuine smiles, their joyful simplicity, their deep connection to the land reminded me of what truly matters. And then, there were the unforgettable encounters with the Maasai people — guardians of ancient traditions. Being welcomed into their villages, listening to their songs, learning about their customs and worldview opened my eyes to a different way of living. Their ancestral wisdom and deep respect for nature are things we’ve often forgotten in the modern world. But some of the most touching memories came through the smiles of children. Giving a little toy car, a sweet treat, something small… and seeing their eyes light up, hearing their laughter — that kind of pure, spontaneous joy grips your heart. Those simple, sincere moments of sharing left a lasting mark on me. They are a powerful reminder that true happiness is often found in the smallest gestures. #travelkenya #kenya
