A new book. Better yet: two books in one. Later this year, the first volume of a new book series featuring essays on art and art history will be published — initiated by the Alien Athena Foundation of Art. I designed the visual identity for the series and created the typography for the first volume. This copy is part of a limited pre-release edition commemorating an event hosted by the Foundation. Thanks to Lukas Töpfer and Studio Michael Müller for the great collaboration.
Finally, I can share the result of my latest book design.
“Die Beiwerke der Leere – Die Beiwerke des Lebens. Paratext und Parergon: Konstellationen der Konzeptkunst” by Lukas Töpfer is a complex, philosophical work about “everything and nothing” embedded in an art-historical examination of New York conceptual art of the 1970s.
The typography combines various interwoven text layers with some illustrations and numerous footnotes aiming for a unified impression that places the content above an overly expressive aesthetic. Thanks to Lukas for his trust and the great cooperation in this project.

Class PM: Multilingual Layouts📖📒📕📔📘
Spent 10 days of full schedule in Design Summer as an interpreter.💪
It was a real fun going through the whole book-making process with those fantastic people who are incredibly nice and talented🥺🥺🥺Can‘t believe that I just found out how interesting Layout can be..!🙌🙌🙌
Still feeling so lucky to be part of this class! 10 days felt like a blink, but I believe that was definitely not the end but the start of our friendship. Best wishes for our future adventures, and looking forward to meeting you guys again, sometime, somewhere on this planet, with happy smiles and lots of new creations!🥰🫶🫶🫶
