For AAPI Heritage Month, we’re celebrating the meaningful connection between Little Hedy and Big Elaine. Over the past two plus years, Elaine has supported Hedy through her high school journey and college preparation, from attending the BBBS College Fair together to exploring future goals and opportunities.
Beyond academics, they’ve bonded through Lunar New Year and AAPI Heritage Month events, Thanksgiving potlucks, library study sessions, visits to the Botanic Garden, and even learning to crochet together. Through every shared experience, Elaine has helped Hedy build confidence, feel supported, and get excited for the future ahead.
Their match is a powerful reminder of how mentorship can inspire growth, connection, and confidence, while celebrating culture, community, and possibility along the way.
