I always get asked what hoop is right to begin with, but as you can see I’ve got a lot of hoop options for my students. They all have their place! When I’m teaching and training I need different sizes for different things.
I always make sure I bring a range to class because every body is different. There are so many tricks, styles and body shapes. You want to feel comfortable and supported by your hoop so you can succeed in your tricks and flow.
If you came to class you know for our warm up on body we were using 36 inches in a 3/4 thickness in HDPE. Then we switched to 32 inch polypro in Moonshine, all from @baysidehooping .
Let’s talk thickness! I’m a sucker for a thicker hoop. I find the extra weight really helps beginners and taller people like me get the hoop up and moving around the body. Lara @spinncircle would disagree 😅 She prefers a springier 5/8. It’s lighter and bouncier for dancing which is her style.
For my own flow I’m using a 31 inch sectional from @baysidehooping which I love for Tech stuff

Life has been a bit of whiplash in the last 3 months.
After getting back from Europe last year we have had constant issues with our last home, trespassing, damaged goods, unliveable conditions thanks to our dodgy landlord - even to the point that people who wanted his head came a threaten us at our home.
Things were unstable and uncomfortable for ages, so we finally started exploring different living arrangements. A few days before Christmas we moved into a beautiful new home with new energy, and it’s been amazing. Then, as soon as we all settled in our little boy Raj passed unexpectedly. So over the past few weeks we have only just started settling our nervous systems again.
We are so lucky to have the community we have. People supported us, gave us love, and care. So now the healing has truely begun, we are finally not starting our days in tears.
My dreams have been incredibly vivid. And I’ve been listening to them and they are becoming more and more memorable. My lil boy has visited me 3 times since he passed. And all my other dreams I’ve looked into have been spot on with their meanings.
I’m finding a lot of peace living within the trees with my soul fam.
I am changing. A lot of my makeup has been broken down and built up again in new ways that I wish I could explain.
This is a huge transition period. Things I used to enjoy feel like a chore, whereas chores now bring calm.
This year is going to bring a lot of change, I can feel it.
In my being, in my thinking, and in my habits.
I’ve floated for a long while now, with no major goals, but it’s time for that to change.
I feel more intuitive than ever, as people keep reminding me. So I choose to listen deeper to my intuition.
I know this comes across as a lot of word vomit, but I’ve had these thoughts and feelings circulating me as I finally find a sense of stability again.
All in all, I’m so grateful for every lesson, interaction and experience I’ve had - even the shit stuff. Because it reminds me how truely loved we are by one another. 🤍

After the ship I was so stoked to train on still, stable land, I FINALLY focused on consistently working on these tricks as best I could…. In between getting distracted during training and creating silly combos and act ideas all the time 😇
guys HOOP SPLITTING IS DAMN HARD… it takes SO much consistent practice and my brain always just wants to explore and play
And I’ve always been a single hoop-dance focused gal but it feels SO good to be performing multi hooping tricks on stage now!
